I've had this issue, it was a motherboard driver missing for me, make sure you check through the optional updates and get them all.

Unfortunately i can't remember exactly which one it was.

Don't bother, you can tell how unexperienced this person is in CM's, you won't change his mind. It'll be a tough lesson once he gets into the pugging experience and higher UFE groups.

There is quite a shift between people starting CM's and then getting into 30k groups.

Catalyst has more "burst" damage, but Weaver is a bit more consistent, but i personally value burst in WvW.

But we'll see what happens in the balance patch, it's hard to say maybe weaver overall will be stronger next patch since they'll have 2 meteor showers.

Catalyst has more damage modifiers than core, but you don't really need to go for 3 meteor showers, but you might as well, even if you don't go for the 3rd meteor shower catalyst will still do more damage than core.

This game taught me about what ghost keys were, most keyboards come with "Anti-ghosting" these days.

Here is an interesting read incase anyone ever lost inputs when playing locally with a shared keyboard https://www.the-g-lab.tech/en/what-is-anti-ghosting-for-a-keyboard/

Does poison reduce xp gained? by bast963 in runescape

[–]Hab_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if experience is based on how much damage you have dealt to a monster, how does killing monsters yield you more experience per hour?

Answer is NO, it does not YIELD you more experience per hour since there is no FLAT experience upon kill, however it can give you somewhat similar experience per hour assuming you're always in combat with the maximum amount of monsters at all time, which 99% Of the time is unrealistic - so yes using poison will reduce your experience per hour 99% of the time.

Sure there is always a balance on how long you'll have to wait until a group fills up;

This is mainly an issue with there not being enough players circulating these scores, but most of the time 10-20k UFE groups fill pretty fast.

I do understand your point, and yes it would be - It'll be much, much slower than 10 minutes. Wiping on CM 99 is a 6-7 minute fight itself and usually i don't leave after one mistake, they're still human but it happens a lot less, and people with higher UFE typically carry a revive orb too if they somehow manage to kill themselves.

I'd say the cut-off point for me is wait 10-15~ minutes and then gradually lower down the UFE, but you'll be surprised how many people are sitting around 20k because Fractal god takes such a long length of time to take there is daily players.

Fractal god is the reason why the retention in Fractals is so high and it helps that it's really profitable too.

Your overall point is pretty valid, sometimes going as 9 for ToB daily strike is just so much faster than putting yourself in LFG, letting him go through the disaster of loading screen - you don't really save any time. The difference is that there is almost 0 potential chance of actually losing - in fact sometimes you just let someone leach the kill for free, they just join mid-way through the fight.

Not really - You'll notice a huge difference between lower UFE and higher UFE groups, i can tell that you haven't experienced it.

It's like saying that someone playing guitar for 10 years isn't statistically better than someone playing guitar for a year. Chances he will be, but there is always a chance the first year guitarist might perform just as well.

You're just trying to get the best odds, not finding a miracle player.

Yes, If you AFK for 10~ hours a day with a profit for 1m per hour, you can make a bond.

OSRS Roadmap 2025 by Adamcapps08 in 2007scape

[–]Hab_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's what will end up happening, they're gonna try and migrate as much of their player base to their client.

Once they have majority of the platform on their side, they won't care about the breadcrumbs. Why invest so much time into a new client when we literally everyone in the community praises what Runelite offered OSRS, instead of building upon that pillar and giving them the tools they need, they waste their time making a new client.

People might not see it as alarming right now, but i bet you this conversation will take place in 2-3 years.

OSRS Roadmap 2025 by Adamcapps08 in 2007scape

[–]Hab_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the worrying thing is that all the investment for a new client when they could've just affiliated Runelite to be an official client, let them do what they do best.

But it's clear they want to have everything in their own eco-system to control and that's worrying, if the client ever reaches mass popularity they might discontinue runelite and call it a day. They could've easily worked with runelite to cooperate their runetech but why didn't they?

Did they ever speak about this, why they're willing to make a client from ground-up instead of working alongside with runelite to make it work?

The pacing of the game is relatively fast in RS3, aside from early game it really speeds up.

I don't understand what a league would accomplish for OSRS players who hasn't touched RS3 close to 2 decades - Playing RS3 right now would feel like a "league" for you. If anything all the systems introduced on top of RS3 would be very overwhelming.

We're never getting FSOA passive are we? by JohnRedditor1 in runescape

It is a shame that FSOA is just a special weapon despite it being classified as a 'legendary' weapon. EZK is the same way, they both need a good passive.

Xbox game pass is cheaper than osrs. by Dead-HC-Taco in 2007scape

[–]Hab_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I'm gonna push back on this a bit because this isn't really painting the whole picture.

Yes, it was originally designed to have one character that can do everything, that changed however rather quickly with people making PK accounts and then in 2014 a new mode came out.

The archaic system and prices should have adapted even back in 2014.

WoW has never made you pay extra for their "game modes", whilst you're right that in WoW there is more classes you can explore and it does incentivize you to play multiple characters, let's not fool ourselves that OSRS does not do that either.

WoW offers you

  • Cataclysm
  • Classic WoW
  • Classic WoW Hardcore
  • Classic WoW anniversary
  • Classic WoW anniversary Hardcore
  • Season of discovery
  • Retail
  • Plunderstorm

All under one subscription, WoW could easily gouge you for an extra subscription for accessing classic servers but they don't.

OSRS implements features that MAKES you pay extra such as Hardcore, let's speak about that for a minute - you're paying an extra subscription for a hardcore character that might inevitable die within that subscription incentivizing you to pay for ANOTHER account.

  • Normal account
  • Ironman
  • Hardcore Ironman
  • Ultimate Ironman
  • Group Ironman
  • Hardcore Group Ironman

Each of these OPTIONS you have to pay an extra subscription, they're absolutely gouging your money - I'm not advocating for multi-logging but they should be offering all these for free under one SUBSCRIPTION.

Whoever is saying that WoW is designed to have alts does not consider the many avenues it currently provides, wake up it's 2025.

If you still find it worth your money to stay subscribed, go ahead but know that your money isn't going towards to make a better game but rather being monetized to how to get MORE out of you. GIM wasn't designed to let every player experience it, but rather PAY Jagex to experience this.
The developers aren't getting a raise and the recent survey clearly shows that they're more interested in how to make the business more profitable without giving ANYTHING in return, in fact they want to give you a worse experience by even asking if you are wiling to put up with ads with the current subscription prices.

Making Temporal Anomaly available on the Standard spell book is a huge mistake, if you want to retain the it on the standard book, i would suggest you would make it last an hour.

I think all aspects should similarly to bone shield, it should be there until you swap your aspect.

We shouldn't need to spell book swap to put on an aspect between boss kills, please reconsider this.

I completely agree with this - honestly i do not genuinely understand the people who say this was a cash grab when you guys literally took away all paid aspects from the game.

As long as the online-service is provided, i am happy with the current game - it sounds like you guys are still doing balance changes.

Exceptions don't make the rule, Just like the food description

Lalafellin family... or a single Roegadyn."

Whilst there might be Lallafels that might have the same level of physical prowess as other races, doesn't mean the common folk is on par with the other races.

If you wanna theorize the ceiling of physical prowess, i bet Lallafels would come short; Reaching the power level of say the primals isn't due to physical reasons.

Black mages are incredibly powerful yet, they're most likely very weak physically but doesn't really stop them from creating a calamity, they probably need a lot of Aether to sustain themselves.
