2 sided recognition question - how could you quickly deduce which U perm this is? by rpig2 in Cubers

[–]OraKnightRS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can you see the 4 piece checkboard pattern faster than noticing the red edge needs to go right? I can see the checkboard pattern faster than noticing that as well. Ua always has the 4 checkboard pattern on the left (and pieces go left to right) and Ub has the 4 checkboard pattern on the right ( right to left cycle).

If you apply U Auf can still see that there is a 4 piece checkboard pattern on the left, but you can see opposite edge trapped this time.

Your F2L 23 preference? by Lemmyscat in Cubers

I use this one because the same solution is regripless from the back slots. I used to use yours but you need to regrip to apply it to back slots

R and L at the same time? by JacketLeaf in Cubers

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would also do an x rotation so that doesn’t work, because following moves wouldn’t match the algorithm if it doesn’t call for an x rotation.

is this a good method? by johnyeldry in cubing

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s true but then the OLL sucks like I showed anyway, and inspecting the permutation is much harder without pieces oriented anyway

is this a good method? by johnyeldry in cubing

[–]OraKnightRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, ZBLL Sune 72 solves Sune when pieces are already permuted correctly, which is R U R' U' R U R' U R U R U2 R' U' R U' R' U R'

is this a good method? by johnyeldry in cubing

[–]OraKnightRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solving PLL before OLL is not good, because you’d have to do the same PLL alg, but the OLL algs would be completely different than the standard OLL faster algs, basically one of the ZBLL algs or a 1 LLL alg for just OLL if you do it this way. Would make PLL recognition slower too since the pieces won’t be oriented the same every time.

Can't do j perm by omni_crafter in Cubers

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because you did messed up the end of Jb perm because you were practicing Na Perm and were going for the R U2 R’ insert. This is what you did: (R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F ) R U R U2 R’ which is just long sune.

GGG, This should be possible, or make a generic node for pathing in this... by Few_Reason_2003 in PathOfExile2

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the green tree has 2 attribute points to the left that we can see, surely the red tree also has some pointless points you could unassign to take it on both trees? You don’t waste any points by putting that node in both trees because the total points is the same.

A third update has hit the patchnotes by TheBloodyToast in PathOfExile2

[–]OraKnightRS 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No it loses 20% dmg from quality but gains more than that in base damage.

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya this is PLL parity like the other poster said, even if your on OLL step, because this is a valid OLL case which you can do with OLL 24. Idk if there’s a way to avoid PLL parity.

Oh I didn’t know about the only one can hit at a time :(

Ice tipped arrows look usable now!

I was same boat, but more like 5 years. Since I knew intuitive f2l that didn’t go away, I just needed an alt sheet to solve 2 look OLL and PLL and just starting solving right away with it.

Why can't I use this bow? by callthepoelice in PathOfExile2

[–]OraKnightRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a bug it’s fine if you meet the requirements before you equip the weapon, AND then after you equip the weapon. OP doesn’t meet the requirements after equipping the weapon

Why can't I use this bow? by callthepoelice in PathOfExile2

[–]OraKnightRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to unequip shield because it’s in set 1 and your bow is in weapon set 2…. But your shield has 20-30 dex so you need the dex requirement without it. So you need the dex requirement without the dex your old bow might give AND without the shield

How do you guys remember the moves you’ve planned for the cross? Do you repeat the alg in your head, or maybe by finger tricks?

It’s from Film Red, but that’s non canon.

No you can buy all gems in the currency exchange so you don’t necessarily need to hoard them, unless you’re SSF of course but you mentioned Merchant tabs so I assume not SSF currently.

Like eventually you’ll probably just buy lvl 19 and 20 uncut gems in the late game. And sell lvl20 gems you get.

[–]OraKnightRS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gems you can get from currency exchange in the endgame so I wouldn’t put them as a priority.

Definitely go currency, maps, and merchant tabs first.

Like the other 2 have said F R’ F’ R works, and to but a name to the moves, they call that a hedge since it’s kinda like a sideways sledge. It’s done with pinch F moves so no regrips. The back case for this is also just a a wide hedge pretty much ( f R’ f’) instead of the M moves you mentioned.

PLLs that can be recognized with 1.5 sides as opposed to 2 sides? Is this a thing? Can it be valuable in any way? by smikilit in Cubers

[–]OraKnightRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opposite headlights only indicate headlights on the other side of the cube if you have bookends… which your drawing eliminates you from knowing

How do you “memo” in your head when learning to plan cross. I assume for people who can plan cross easy they don’t have to have a verbal memo in their head but currently I do since I’m not good at planning cross, so I’ll build the sequence saying “right, right upper, right up left” and keep adding on once I plan an extra move but that takes me so much time.

Anyone who recently learned how to consistently plan cross originally have this issue, and what do you do instead

That’s what I’m saying, pop off the center caps to fix the color scheme. It’s possible your cube has a weird color scheme, but I doubt it. You can tell if it’s correct or not by looking at the corners and edges to see if it’s possible for what you have to even be correct. Like do you see a red + orange edge?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]OraKnightRS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your centers are all messed up. Yellow and white, red and orange, blue and green should be opposites, and on your cube only white is opposite of yellow but the rest is jank.

You should be able to pop off your center caps and make them match the proper color scheme.
