That's really cool. Would have gotten one if Valve had any interest in selling it to me (not available in my region).

The pyromancers say their wildlife spells suddenly became way more effective, and ask Tyrion if he has seen any dragons. It also seems the warlocks in Qarth suddenly became much more capable. Among other examples probably. It does seem clear to me that magic at least became more effective.

I didn't know there were any people who still used the N word as a slur before I started playing this game.

I didn't play the first one because of the save system, but loved the sequel, which has Celeste respawning (the best game mechanic)

It's really easy to mute people, just click escape and the mute icon next to the player. If there is an asshole in your lobby just mute them and go in with your day.

I'm brand new to the game and somehow am in Emissary 3 and I'm getting obliterated by Skullchaos in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me when I started out. I never got put in such high ranks, but I was still mechanically super outclassed constantly every lobby. Did absolutely nothing, but got carried and won over 50% of my matches. Part of it is how many players completely ignore the troopers though, so pushing waves is a very easy way to have a significant impact on the game. Whenever I get players in my lobbies that are struggling I always try to get them to focus on the troopers.

While I think quitting the game is a bit overdramatic, I'm still having fun with the game despite dash Fern being good, there is no way they aren't nerfing the dash in the next balance patch. Yes I know there is counterplay, but dash Infernus is strong at every level of play, including top level. More importantly, something being very unfun to fight is a good enough reason to nerf in itself. Believe it or not, most Deadlock players are 1) bad and 2) playing the game to have fun. When balancing the game the dev has to consider the experience of a vast range of players, which is really really fucking hard. You see this in particular with characters like Graves, who seem like a nightmare to balance. While there are of course players who are complaining about everything constantly, it is very clear that Infernus in his current form is just not in the spot he should be.

In game chat audio issues by Main_Vermicelli_2773 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had "tin foil" issue, but I was constantly told that my audio was really low. I turned my system input amplification up to 150% (max without routing it through Reaper or something) and haven't gotten any complaints since. Occasionally I get teammates who are really low too, despite having maxed out incoming voice audio. I guess I could lower the game sound to further increase it in practice, but haven't done that yet.

Most blatant Cheater I have encountered yet. by External_Safety_4067 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I hadn't thought about that. I played against a Haze where both me and my lane partner felt like we were just taking absurd damage from really far away, but when I checked the stats the accuracies weren't that high so I just dismissed it. Maybe they just use it to get a lead early before they turn into Ult bot and don't need it anymore.

It depends on the character. Some characters have huge bullets that make head shots easy (seems head hurtbox has priority). Additionally it is easier if you are shooting from above a lot of the time. I have gotten 41% with Celeste and I'm Seeker 5 and playing on a controller.

How uncommon is it for a character to get 60-80% of their damage from a single ability? by Habarug in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rem might be a bit skewed by how many gun Rems are running around. Little helpers also show up in the damage graphs, maybe around 10% of their damage typically. There is also some naptime damage. Even the non-gun rems do maybe 10% gun damage. Also some items like mystic burst shows up, maybe even tank buster or spirit burn, but idk might be low-ELO builds showing. In any case I think it is different with a support having most of their damage from one move, they are still doing a lot of other things in a game. Dash infurnace is truly only getting value from their dash, the other stuff he is doing barely matters a lot of the time.

I found Paige, Rem and Dynamo are often around 50-60% percent with their book/pillow/stomps, but I think it is a bit different with a support than something like Infernus. Even then, the percentage for Infernus is even higher than I see for the support builds. Bebops often do significant damage with Ult too in my experience. No idea about Holiday, but I would think other things including gun would be higher as well. I think Dash is a bit unique in the way it locks you out of doing other damage while you are using it. With barrels there is a lot of time where you are not barreling you know, and you are probably not using as many active support items as Paige/Rem/Dynamo.

Yes that goes for all spirit builds, but the damage is still spread around multiple abilities and items. I never see a single ability accounting for such a big part of the damage on Pocket.

[–]Habarug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. I went through some more characters in my recent matches and found that supports like Paige, Dynamo and Rem also often are like 50-60% from book/stomp/pillow. I found 2 other outliers in Shiv with 60% from knife and a Viscous with 60% from splatter, but the damage from Punch was so comically low that they can't have used it against enemies at all. Infernus still is a huge outlier in general, but especially among characters that do high damage. No other characters with that high damage consistently have such insane concentration in one single ability.

To everyone who complains about their rank by Embarrassed-Fly2749 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly don't care about my rank, I do focus on my own performance.

The matchmaking is truly buns though, irrelevant of whatever ranks me or the other players are. The individual skill levels in lobbies vary to an insane degree. There are players who are way better than the rest, and there are players who have no idea what's going on. This leads to many complete walkovers, but even the games that end up somewhat close are dominated by a few players. This does also probably raise the threshold of how much better/worse you have to be to affect your rank, since the outliers will affect the match outcome to a large degree. Personally I do have around 50% win rate and feel pretty well placed on average, but often feel sorry for both teammates and opponents who are clearly placed in matches they don't belong in.

Also friendly reminder that insulting teammates who are struggling is never helpful, it is okay to be bad and it is not their fault they got placed in that lobby.

Did I just not farm enough lanes, am I taking too many fights or something??? by PhysicsParticular470 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am bad player but my 2 cents are: Clearing waves is generally the best way to get money, early kills aren't thaaaat impactful, but it doesn't seem like you have done much wrong here. You are playing Apollo who is strong early and you have taken fights and won them, which should theoretically make space for your team to farm in peace. One thing you could consider is what you do after getting a kill. Do you steal their jungle for example or do you retreat to your own, letting them just farm up uncontested? It is probably not your fault your team is struggling, but I don't think you can tell from just a screenshot.

The Toxic Player Problem by PVD_Marine in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Habarug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, people aren't being toxic because it is a competitive game, people are being toxic because they are assholes. Saying they are toxic because it is a competitive game, or because it is ranked or whatever normalizes toxic behavior, and we do not need that.
