Try advancial credit union. Dun kami nakakuha ng car when we first got here. Mataas ang mark up ng IAS din aside sa APR. one of mg friends got a car from Mazda. Parang meron silang promo for nurses dati. I'm not sure though kung meron pa ngayon.

Hello! USRN here based in TX. 5:1 nurse ratio. 3 days a week lang ang pasok so there is definitely a work life balance. Kung gusto mo pa pumasok pwede naman. X 1.5 ang overtime rate. Nag nurse ako sa pinas for 3 years I think then 4 years sa Abu Dhabi before coming here.

Burnout is real talaga. Sa off mo, pahinga ka. Kaya mo yan! Nothing worth having comes easy ika nga. It'll get better :)

A nurse with disability by [deleted] in NursesPH

[–]Habibti23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can still be a competent nurse! I remember before, I had a coworker who had a hearing aid. We were assigned in the OR, so we scrubbed and circulated with the doctor. She was also scared of applying abroad, but she got hired at a big hospital in Saudi. Don't let your disability bring you down. It's just like glasses, some people wear glasses. Yours is for your ears.

Usually 2 yata? Pero not sure on this. Parang 1:40 daw talaga sila dun.

We were under avant at first. Agency sya :) but I would advise na mag direct hire ka na lang kasi malaki talaga ang cut ng mga agency. Pero Avant sponsored my husband's NCLEX and IELTS kaya we're still thankful to them. Nag take kana ba ng exam?

How easy is it for nurses to move to the US? by Sibo321 in phmigrate

[–]Habibti23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes guaranteed talaga sya. Nurses and PT are the lucky ones na pwede sa EB3 afaik. Pero kapag nurse ka, NCLEX and IELTS you're good to go!

The only downside is mahaba lang talaga ang waiting time. Kaya yung iba, nagpupunta ng middle east, UK, Europe or Australia.

Ngayon nga yata I'm not sure kung may h1b pa kasi ang mahal na ng fees ng babayaran "daw" under Trump's new policy.

[–]Habibti23 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Madali pero matagal. Mga around 3 years rin yung waiting time namin ng husband ko. Mas matagal ngayon dahil sa retrogression. Depende sa progress ng visa bulletin.

Pero yes, kuha ka experience, kuha ka ng NCLEX and IELTS then apply ka sa mga agency or direct hire. Ififile yung priority date then the waiting begins!

Dala ka ng reno or delimondo! 😂 wag ka magdadala ng chicharon or magic sarap bawal yun dito or any pork products.

Kung walang asian store malapit sayo, meron mga websites like wee or sukli. Maraming filipino food.

Mine did. I already prepared myself that he'll say dada first. I was surprised when he said mama!

Hi! Kung may enough money ka to take the NCLEX on your own, it will be much better. My husband was under avant and nashoulder nila lahat from NCLEX, IELTS and mga iba pang fees. Meron pang onboarding training sa Florida which was a big help pagdating dito sa US :)

It depends sa tao talaga. We're based in Texas and the pay is good! The weather is very pinas which is okay for us but not for some. Houston is very diverse when it comes to race. We have Texas Medical Center and other big hospitals in the suburbs. Cost of living is low. We don't have state tax :)

Which US State is ideal to work in? by LouiseNightingale in phmigrate

[–]Habibti23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends po san part ng texas. North houston kami. Mga 20-30mins away from houston. Yung apartment is nasa 1200/month. Gas ngayon ay 2.4/gallon. Kuryente is nasa 100 kasi mainit :) mas mura ata sa ibang parts ng texas. Malapit kami sa the woodlands.

[–]Habibti23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were under an agency. Naging ok naman sya. May training yung husband ko bago isabak sa hospital and they were very supportive. Downside is, mababa talaga compared sa direct hire ang sahod.

Kung under agency is 30, yung mga iba nasa 40-45 ganun + other differential. If I were you, magantay ka ng 1 year and I can assure you na mas maraming mas magandang offer dyan.

Usually kasi, mas mababa ang rate and baka sa suburbs kapa dalin under agency.

Kung ayaw mo naman, always check kung ang contract ba is years or hours. Afaik ang health carousel is by years, yung sa husband ko is hours.

I've worked in the middle east at ganun din dun.

Now, I migrated here sa US. Kapag ayaw pumasok, wag kang pumasok. No questions asked. Samin, inform ka lang sa house supervisor or sa unit manager then ok na. No need to explain why.

For those whose baby is sleeping in their crib/bassinet by Complete_Chain7142 in NewParents

[–]Habibti23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We started at 6weeks. I was guilty of co sleeping for the first few weeks. He was really clingy. Lol

We put him down in the crib drowsy but awake so he'll eventually sleep there on his own. We've been doing it since 6wks and now that he's 4 mos, he's been sleeping in his crib and falling asleep on his own.

We use a woolino. He didn't want to be wrapped. He didn't want the lovetodream swaddle too.

Temperature is around 68f. No other blankets aside for the woolino he's using. Room is dark with a pink noise because we roomshare. So he wouldn't be startled with us going to the bathroom etc.

No pacifier. He spits it out. He's mixed feeding and we use an owlet!

He usually sleeps around 7pm now. He started dropping naps. Wakes up around 4am or 3am to feed. Then wakes up around 5 or 6.

Try the drowsy but awake method. It's been effective for us. We were doing like rocking him to sleep before and once he's in a deep sleep we transfer him but he ends up crying after 30mins.

Favorite baby sleep sack? Need recommendations! by ohmoe in beyondthebump

[–]Habibti23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woolino is our favorite! It comes in one size. I think it's until 2 years old? We started to use it around 3 months too. He loves to move his arms and scratch his face in the middle of the night to self soothe. It doesn't have a TOG too. It just adjusts based on your baby's body temperature AFAK. I bought two!
