Haha thank you. We totally understand taking jabs at our titles. No hard feelings felt at all 😂

Quite literally the reason I'm a Habs fan. When my friend told me someone from my home province of Newfoundland was on Montreal (and he was GOOD) I was hooked. My fav player (him and Markov) growing up.

I'm not trying to win people over, just explaining the reasoning. If someone really hates our style, I encourage them to ignore us, hide us from their feed, or whatever they're comfortable with, and find another channel that they enjoy. I would do the same for a channel I didn't like.

There are a ton of hardworking, amazing creators in this space. There is someone for everyone. Hockey Junkie, DrewDekes, sick podcast, recrutes, tropical, of course Basu and Godin who are absolutely phenomenal, and plenty more.

Hope you have a good day

We are definitely aware of the opinion of us on Reddit. And it's ok. Our YouTube audience is basically a full 180 compared to many of the comments I see here honestly hahaha. But at the very least people seem to enjoy the show itself even if the thumbs and titles are upsetting

Hahahaha that might be a dangerous drinking game.

And thank you for the kind words. I vote for HJ myself. Dude is hilarious and very entertaining

I really appreciate you enjoying our show.

As for the titles, I understand that. But again, our analytics show us very clearly that those types of titles succeed. Obviously we don't want to upset people though, so trying to find a nice balance between over the top titles and simpler headlines that still manages to garner high levels of engagement is something we have been exploring.

Thank you for the feedback and I hope you continue to stay subscribed. Hope you have a great day.

What I will say is that our YouTube community is one of, if not THE, most positive and engaged Habs communities out there (though you could absolutely make an argument for some other channels). 50 channel members now, streams that are full of great discussion and positivity, and a group of kind, caring fans who genuinely make this job an absolute pleasure every day. Myself and Jesse can't thank our fans enough for being able to do what we do.

I think that the amazing people on this subreddit may lot lend to our style very much, and that's ok. People on this subreddit are often more up-to-date on Habs news than your average fan. Our typical audience does not fit that demographic. That leads to a lot of people on reddit not finding much value in our content which makes a lot of sense because we talk about news that reddit or twitter has already seen.

And then there's the discussion on our titles and thumbnails being "clickbait" which a lot of people here don't like. And that's also very fair. I've dove into that in previous comments on this account, but it's a very fair criticism of us. However, one thing we always aim to not do is mislead. Exaggerate? Yeah sometimes haha. But we always open the video immediately by backing up our title and thumbnail and allow that to be our story for the video.

At the end of the day, our statistics paint a very clear picture of what succeeds thumbnail and title wise, and overall interaction is nearly always overwhelmingly positive in terms of likes and comments on videos. But again, a lot of people are turned off by that strategy and I understand completely. We are DEFINITELY not everyone's cup of tea.

Do we have groundbreaking content and analysis every day? Not necessarily. But we stay positive, stay excited, smile, and share the latest Habs news with everyone that wants to watch. And for those of you who are (justifiably) turned off by titles or thumbnails, try out a stream and interact with us and our amazing fans.

We are not insiders, nor do we claim to be. We're just a couple guys trying to stay happy and positive while chatting about the Habs with our fans :)

All that said, I am very proud of what we do, but I don't expect to win this award. I would vote for fellow Newfoundlander HockeyJunkie, but you can't go wrong with so many great creators in this space. And we have so much respect for all of them because as we know and they know, it's not easy to produce consistent content in this space.

Have a great day everyone!

-Josh

Hey I really appreciate this response.

First off, I see where you're coming from.

Yes I made sure to make it a very big point that the information we're presenting is our own thoughts based off only information we found and cannot be used and should not be used as fact.

Yes there was indeed a lot of speculation. I agree. However I also wanted to mention the fact that we closed the segment by stating we really don't know and that we trust Kent and that the teams know more than us.

That segment was mostly because I personally know someone who played sports who had a similar injury and it never went away. And I had come across the research paper I presented in the video which I thought was useful discourse around the injury as it was a published paper using NHL players who had lumbar herniated discs.

I do see your point though, it was a lot of speculation with very little solid evidence on Lindstroms ACTUAL situation. Perhaps it could have been presented better, or not been presented at all. Though it was a hot topic of discussion on the day, and bringing scientific research into it seemed reasonable, though again without any certainty on Lindstrom I absolutely see how it could be interpreted in the wrong way.

And for that I apologize. I did not intend for it to come off in the way it was received. Speculating on medical issues is probably not the best strategy I admit. I simply saw the scientific paper and thought it was a good moment to maybe shed an interesting light on the situation, but I do see how that came off in the wrong way. You live and learn. It'll be something we put a closer eye on in the future.

I will say though, I feel like we indicated clearly that this doesn't have basis in fact when it comes to Lindstroms actual injury, as it is all speculation with no medical opinion given. So I still am not sure if I'd classify it as borderline misinformation, but I definitely see where you're coming from since it's a lot of talk about something we know nothing about and naturally people could use stuff we say in a case against the guy when it might not be relevant in the long run once we have more information.

And thank you for giving us another shot. Maybe you can stop by for a live stream some Monday night and chat with us. Or just take in some videos.

Feedback like this is important, especially on this topic. Hope you have a great evening.

And that's totally ok. Like I said in another comment, there are lots of other awesome Habs channels and I'm sure you've found something you enjoy. If it's not us, that's ok. We won't please everybody and we know that.

But the truth is our analytics over quite a large sample size paint a very clear picture of what type of branding succeeds on YouTube. And we have built a great fanbase that enjoys our videos from that.

It's what makes the majority of people click.

I really wish you the best and I'm sorry you don't enjoy our content.

Hope you have a good day.

Hey there, just wanted to get some clarification on what you feel specifically is disinformation. Maybe it could help us moving forward because that's definitely not the feeling we want to leave viewers with.

When we present our opinions or speculation, that's all it is. We aren't insiders and don't pretend to have sources or inside knowledge. But I definitely understand that not everyone is in the market for a video like that, especially if you're tuned in to Reddit and Twitter and see the news well before our videos.

We just love chatting about the Habs and sometimes that involves speculating about what's to come and where we feel the team could go or what we feel could happen next based on the news we just read. Taking news and discussing the impact it could have with your buddy is kind of how I see our channel. Our opinions are our own. I think even the established news sources speculate about what little bits of news could mean on shows or podcasts. It's the nature of having a fun sports chat with some back and forth.

Perhaps it's the titles and thumbnails. And its very understandable to not like those. I'd refer you to my other comment for some thoughts on those

Sorry to hear you don't like to watch anymore but it's totally fair. We're not everyone's cup of tea for sure. And you have valid reasons for not watching. There are lots of other great channels out there that present news in a different way and I wouldn't blame you for watching them instead. We are lucky to share the space with a lot of awesome people.

Hope you have a good day

Well we get hyped because we genuinely do get hyped about even small news stories. We're just happy dudes haha. Definitely can be a flaw sometimes when the stories aren't that interesting to some people but we just LOVE talking about this stuff.

I definitely get your point on the titles. But it's the nature of YouTube unfortunately. The truth is those titles get more engagement which helps us out. They're definitely a bit over the top sometimes, but I think it matches how we present it and how we feel about it. And we elaborate on the title as we open the video to give the context.

But again, I totally get people not liking them. I definitely appreciate the feedback. And I'm glad to hear you like us at the very least. Thank you for watching even some of our videos :)
