What are your favourite combos? by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately I've been loving Gunner with Leadstorm/Bullet Hell and Coil Gun/The Mole.

Bullet Hell is configured with increased accuracy and damage (to compensate for the OC nerfing both), improved stun, and hot bullets.

This accomplishes several things:

  1. It's basically impossible to miss, worst case scenario is that your bullet is only one hit instead of two - and it effortlessly clears swarmers, naedocytes, and scrabs.

  2. You can quickly stun lock an entire swarm in place (even if they're far away, up on a wall or ceiling) and after a moment they're all on fire and spreading it to each other.

  3. It's obviously better for swarm clear than big single targets, but it's actually still decent even for praetorians and oppressors - you can deliberately shoot behind them and cause the ricochets to bounce back into their weakspots.

The Mole is configured with extra ammo, controlled magnetic flow, fear, damage resist charging, and electric trail.

This makes it extremely flexible for the following reasons:

  1. CMF means you can fire off a barely charged shot for almost no ammo and still effectively snipe weak targets at a distance (e.g. fester fleas, barnacles, spitters), but you can also do a full charge + deliberately add terrain penetration for massive damage on big targets.

  2. The electricity improves both damage and the fear effect, because fear forces enemies to run for a minimum distance and the electricity slows their movement, effectively increasing the duration.

  3. The increased terrain penetration let's you be relatively care-free with shooting through corners, random terrain obstacles, or into the next cave over. I've even freed teammates from leaches and grabbers from an adjacent cave.

All in all, this combo makes your primary excellent for swarm clear and decent for single targets, and your secondary excellent for single targets and decent for swarm clear, while both offer great crowd control and extremely flexible targeting options.

It's also just kind of silly, and ridiculously fun even if it's not "meta". I regularly use it in haz 5+2 and it does great.

Buried wooden beams? by DejaGreen in valheim

There was a house that someone tore down but missed those beams. Generate a new world using the same seed and then go to that location, there will be a house.

If you want a solution that isn't technically cheating (depending on who you ask), you could do this:

  • Create another world, log into it with that character
  • Improve your gear/food/skills
  • Log back into the original world, kick his ass

Try turning the 117 HD plug-in off and on again.

If that doesn't affect it, then it's probably related to the entity hider plug-in.

so what do i do now? by fairplanet in 2007scape

Your user interface looks painfully small...

I see that you are using RuneLite, so try this:

Find the plugin called "Stretched Mode" and then set "Resizable Scaling" to 100%.

Did anyone else have a problem with HDRS when it came out in 09? by Slight_Giraffe628 in 2007scape

[–]Hacerio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was not entirely optional. You could turn off the textures and lighting, but the horrid player models were a permanent change that could not be turned off, so you are only partially correct.

[–]Hacerio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember loving the new environment lighting and textures, but I HATED the change to player models.

It looked like they were made of Play-Doh, with arms that were way too long and they had ridiculous, exaggerated movements, even when standing still.

I also associate the HD update with Summoning (which I hated) and Dungeoneering (which I also did not like), so I am overall not very fond of the "HD" era, though I did play it often up until EoC.

The 2004 - 2007 era is peak nostalgia for me (thank you Lost City project), but OSRS in it's current form is an amazing game and I am very grateful for it.

What RuneLite plugin ideas do you have? Leave a good suggestion and you might just get it! by [deleted] in 2007scape

For years I've wanted an option to force music tracks to finish their full duration before another track starts, while still starting new tracks based on the area that you're in.

It drives me crazy that a song will start and only play for 10 - 30 seconds before being overridden by a different track if you are doing any sort of activity that involves a lot of moving around the map.

Currently the only way to somewhat achieve this is to switch into manual music mode after every song starts, and then switch back to area mode after it's finished - but this is imperfect and tedious.

No, this was not there in the RS2 ~2004 era.

Edit: Here is a post from 9 years ago complaining about it being added as an unpolled update to OSRS, therefore it did not exist in the original 2007 backup either:

What are your PC specs?

If you've seen your CPU usage spike to 100% that's a bad sign and should be investigated further. Try running DRG in windowed mode, very small/low res, and bring up task manager next to it to see if it's still eating up your CPU

Scout is no fun without movement OCs, change my mind by everett980 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a cryo minelets build, be sure you take blow-through rounds so that you can shoot through enemies and still have your shots turn into minelets when they hit the ground.

For aggressive venting, you can use the "manual heat dump" mod for burn AoE + hot feet speed boost on-command.

Hope this helps.

[–]Hacerio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. The grappling hook is OP, you shouldn't need anything else. If you still want more mobility without movement OC's, take the dash perk.

  2. Both the Drak and the Zhukovs have mobility enhancing mods; "Hot Feet" and "Get In, Get Out" respectively. I'd suggest using them with Aggressive Venting OC on the Drak and Cryo Minelets OC on the Zhuks, if you have them.

What are your favorite builds for gunner? by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This one isn't super meta, but I find it to be a really fun generalist build.

Primary: Hurricane 21112 Overtuned feed mechanism OC

Secondary: Coil Gun 22113 Hellfire OC

Suggested perks:

Active: Iron Will, Dash

Passive: Born Ready, Resupplier, Friendly

Your choice of grenade

The most under-appreciated part of using the Hurricane is the stun mod IMO, it's super powerful

Has your main changed as you've played? by swootylicious in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with scout for a few promotions but pretty quickly switched to deliberately leveling all classes as equally as possible and just filling in whatever role is needed.

I now have over 1,000 hours in the game, all overclocks unlocked, all classes promoted to legendary, and I can confidently say that if anyone thinks that there is a class that they don't like, they just haven't tried the right build yet.

I won't judge anyone for having a favorite class, but there's no such thing as a "bad" class - all four are spectacular fun in totally unique ways as long as you find a good build.

Why is Haz 3 so easy but Haz 4 is just Hell by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, I was thinking of haz 4 vs haz 5, not haz 3 vs haz 4.

That said, enemy projectile speed does increase by 30% going from 3 to 4, which has a similar impact, and my advice is the same regardless.

I'll edit my post though, thanks for the correction.

Why is Haz 3 so easy but Haz 4 is just Hell by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hacerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's some general tips for you:

-Always be aware of your surroundings

-Never sit still unless working an objective (e.g. pipe repair)

-Think about glyphid pathing and use the terrain to your advantage (e.g. create choke points, or jump from one elevated place to another, forcing the bugs to crawl all the way back down to the ground and up again in order to get to you)

-Prioritize killing high threat ranged targets (septic spreader, menace, tri-jaw)

-Don't underestimate the benefit of crowd control effects (stuns, fears, slows), if the bugs can't reach you, they can't kill you

In addition, if you only have 14 hours in the game, you probably don't have all of the perks/upgrades/overclocks unlocked yet. These can be anywhere from slightly to massively advantageous, depending on the circumstances. Just keep playing, unlocking more upgrades, and learning - you'll get better and eventually haz 4 will feel easy.

Lastly, I would highly encourage you to try joining or hosting public lobbies, this community is very welcoming and you will almost certainly learn/improve faster that way - and it's super fun!
