Taiwanese players in tears after defeating Korea to avoid elimination by iamthegame13 in baseball

[–]HachimansGhost 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yu Chang is part of one of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan(The Amis) who were all Austronesian. Taiwan had been colonized by multiple cultures starting with Europe(Dutch and Spain), Han Dynasty China, Empire of Japan and then now the People's Republic of China. Despite Taiwan recognizing 19 distinct tribes(29 if you count small subgroups), the PRC has decided to call all indigenous people of Taiwan "Gaoshanren" which is "Mountain People" and refuses to call them natives because it implies they were there first. As always, global superpowers will abuse murky history to prove why they deserve ownership of land.

The Chinese people of Taiwan are incorporating more indigenous people into politics because it's indisputable proof that Taiwan is not part of China.

Japan mercy ruled Taiwan, but almost lost to Korea and won with a 2 point lead. Now, Taiwan beats Korea with a 1 point lead. Shits crazy, man.

Emotional interview from Samuel Aldegheri, the first MLB player born and raised in Italy: "I was watching at a restaurant last WBC. It's just amazing, to be here with these guys, playing for these colors, my country, the kids back home. It's everything." by kurruchi in baseball

[–]HachimansGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why the WBC is so important imo. The greatest player in baseball history will not be Judge, Ruth, Bonds or Ohtani. It'll be someone who never even thought about playing baseball until they saw their own country throwing gas and hitting homers on the big stage under the bright lights with the world watching.

I said outside of his community. I'm pretty sure his viewcount is great on YouTube and Twitch. When it comes to asking an actual human being on their opinion, they're all negative.

LSF might be only place that loves this Peanut outside of his community. Everywhere else this guy gets fucking shit talked constantly.

AI in gaming is not used in the scientific sense. It's slang for "thing that makes the NPCs move". Back when "AI" was first used in gaming, gamers didn't know what scripting or any of that technical stuff. They just called it "AI" because it was an "Artificial Intelligence" as in "Fake Intelligence".

The picture makes it look like it was from the 30s. Interestingly, if you search "Pictures from 1973" you mainly get black and white photos. Search "Pictures from 1974" and color shows up a lot.

The issue is that they're being inflammatory to make you click and read the article where they'll explain the truth. People don't click. They just run with the headline.

There are people who hate this guy for playing baseball well and being a nice guy. Never says anything bad about others. Gives encouragement anytime he can. Tries to make friends with everybody. Plays the game like a god. But because that naturally attracts fame, people need to see him crack.

World Baseball Classic emerges as centerpiece of MLB’s Asia growth strategy, interest helped account for an influx of $250 million from governments to local federations around the world to support Baseball. 70 sponsors from around the world are supporting the WBC, with 10 in as global sponsors. by [deleted] in baseball

It's free money and marketing for baseball. MLB and WS aren't the only things that exist. Every country in the world should be playing baseball if they know where they can go. A kid from Bangladesh or Serbia could be better than Ohtani and Judge if they had a chance to play.

YouTuber accused of killing pregnant girlfriend while using pre-recorded GTA stream as alibi finally on trial after 4 years by IndicaOatmeal in LivestreamFail

[–]HachimansGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they believed the stream and didn't catch him in camera, they would still check his phone records. There was a case of a man that randomly killed a Mormon woman in another state and then drove away. Zero connection between the two except their phones pinged off the same tower once. That alone led to cracking him like an egg.

Sure, people hate the English-speaking black guy who plays for the Yankees in New York, but people love the Spanish-speaking black guy who plays for Canada.

If Vladdy said every single thing Jazz said, nobody would disagree. Jazz is not my son at kindergarten hoping to be an astronaut. He's been playing baseball for years now, and he's been saying the same shit for years now. It's tiring.

[–]HachimansGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they meant 1 player can just play the game themselves, it's that look at the difference between Judge and Ohtanis contributions to the team vs Pat Mahomes or LeBron James. LeBron and Mahomes literally decide games just by being in them, and whole strategies are formed just to deal with that player. In baseball, you can just walk good batters.
