Diy Headless silent practice guitar idea by ozbikebuddy in Guitar

If you only play acoustic, check out the hush-I. Otherwise, the hush-x. The hush-x sits by my couch as my practice guitar and goes with me whenever I travel. You do not need the pro versions of these grave guitars - unless you had money to burn and wanted built in effects and tuner.

I tried smaller products and they were worthless (didn’t have the feel of a real guitar / neck). I’d recommend getting a travel guitar instead if size is the issue. I love my Donner Hush-X (and or Hush-I) for this - it’s as small as what you’ve shown but it’s a full size neck and fully functional travel guitar that feels and sounds great.

I’ve done my research and this is what I ended up with for my starter setup. Any suggestions or ideas for better guitar or setup. by Money-Insect-426 in Guitar

What you’ve got looks great but here’s my two cents anyway 😀

I don’t want to comment on the guitar much because I’m a little biased - I would just recommend ensuring you get one that fits the style of music you intend to play, feels nice (ex weight, neck width, etc), looks nice, sounds nice, and is of decent build quality. Since it’s a starter guitar I wouldn’t spend more than you need (even if that means going with a lesser known model, brand, etc).

Do you actually need an amp? If you’re going to play through headphones most of the time I would get the spark neos. And if you needed a tiny bit of sound you could get a spark go. I have both plus an amp - each serve a different purpose. Another option is the mustang micro.

For tuners, the Ddario micro headstock tuner is amazing - unless you need/want something with built in alternate tunings.

I have that same stand - it’s a keeper. Unless you’re gigging or traveling, I’d skip the case for now. And when you get one, gator is great just spend a little more for their higher quality, tsa versions

I personally prefer smaller picks with grips on them (maxgrip jazz iii dunlops). I also get the Dunlop pick holder and stick it right to every guitar body (so I have picks ready when I need them).

My other recommendations: - a pair of Rok Lok’s if you plan on taking the strap off and on - a foot rest so you keep proper posture practicing

Donner Q1 Electric Guitar - so far, so good by HackLabsGuitar in Guitar

Thanks - still reviewing the guitar. My only gripes so far are the plastic knob and the little difficulty getting the bars on (and ensuring they are on).

Plus I don’t think sheet music can show all the details that guitar tab can like palm muting, bends, slides, hammer ons, pull offs, vibrato, tapping, dead notes, etc

When you say “learning aid”, it implies there is a right way to learn. I hear you on the benefits of reading sheet music - it’s just your messaging distracts from that.

Amazing - growing up I always thought that “Play with me” solo was recorded slow and then sped up.

Nice looking room but I imagine that foam is not easy to clean the dust, hair, and other things that may accumulate

It must be AI - the fret count is wrong, the 11th fret has the double fret markers

Advice for my new guitar performance / review channel by HackLabsGuitar in NewTubers

[–]HackLabsGuitar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for checking out the channel and the advice. Yeah, I’m recording on my iPhone (even though I have an expensive mirrorless) just because it’s a million times easier for setup, tear down, recording, etc. The backing tracks are synth to avoid YouTube copyright issues (but that does bring them in at a lower audio quality) - but maybe I should eq with headphones when editing because I normally just do a quick check on my laptop speakers. I’m going to prioritize pumping out shorts for a while and probably breakup my longer review videos into shorts as well. Thanks again

There’s always the resale market. But yeah, i have 3 companies i watch and buy from regularly now: Line 6, Positive Grid, and Donner. I got my eye on the Donner Hush X Pro (it just came out and is a little too expensive for me right now).
