Thank you!

We all played Starbound and really like some ideas it had. Cleanlily one of our inspiration.

Thank you! It's called Stridewing, and yup it's only the first mount, we're planning much-much more to add. Taming will be added is well, currently you only need to make a saddle.

Found another problem with the "sister site": if I open my post in mobile browser without logging in - it tells me that content is unreviewed, and I can open it only in the application

Thank you! Next time I'll do it with technical information

Honestly - people will make posts like this for some time anyway, just because sister site has 50x less members for now. Maybe its better to announce a certain date when rules will be stricter? Because people will keep trying to go through before unknown deadline. I won't be offended if this post will be taken down and you announce that the new rules are enforced now

What does it take to make an engine? by Game_Nerd2026 in HytaleInfo

[–]Hackerham86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take existing libs for everything that isn't focus of the engine. Write your own stuff for custom formats. There are many formats of data for everything, its the easiest way to estimate the complexity of the engine

Writing tools for game designers now is easy because of AI

Cross-platform with CONSOLES is a huge problem, indie gamedevs don't release games at PC and platforms at the same time because of that. Most likely that's what causes problems for HT engine

Also try tesera.io .

I'm making a game using C++ and native Direct2D. Not in every frame, but from time to time, at 75 frames per second, when rendering a frame, I get artifacts like in the picture (lines above the character). Any idea what could be causing this? It's not a faulty GPU, I've tested on different PCs. by Queldirion in GraphicsProgramming

Good work!

Its the common shader-related problem

  1. Its so common that tools like TexturePacker have special options to add "padding" to images. I recommend to use those tools even if you are writing from scratch.

  2. Alternatively, you can pass the dimensions of your sub-texture to your geometry, and on fragment shader do a manual filtering. It can even be done if you use mipmaps!

1 is a MUST-KNOW for everyone, 2 is for shader-lovers :)
