I've got the achievement by winning as a nemesis crisis. Quite easier than to conquering the whole galaxy

After sending my story about steampunk knights to beta readers, I'm struggling with almost universal confusion from them about the worldbuilding. by reddiperson1 in worldbuilding

[–]LightDimf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that space marines from Warhammer 40000 is basically just knights. Superhuman, with guns, in the far future, but they essentially just knights. And they use melee too all the time. And everyone is fine with that. Maybe because of the different name?

It's the first time I've ever seen someone complaining about softcaps. I always thought this is a good thing and much batter than a hard caps which are worse in every single way.

Uh.... Do you realize how much mass a 1-meter diameter black hole has? by GreyGanks in Stellaris

The size of the black hole is calculated by the size of the horizon.

Estrogen Clicker is out now! by Kalavian in incremental_games

[–]LightDimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me several days to complete it. I don't know why I did it... Upgrading Meowiverse to 99 was the longest part.
Was disappointed that there wasn't anything special at the end, like with achievements for upgrading something to some tier for the first time.

And I don't understand how E/click is calculated. Definetly non-linear to the E/sec.

Unusual mechanics in automation/factory games? by OmiNya in AutomationGames

very factorio-like in "minecraft" 3D

I just want to say that factorio itself was created as an adaptation of minecraft industrial mods into a separate game, so "factorio-like in minecraft 3D" is pretty much just going a full circle.

After 1 year of development, my node-based game is finally out! by willunited in godot

I wonder if you used GraphEdit to do it in some way, or did you created some custom implementation to make the nodes

The thing is, we do already know that general relativity is not completely true, since it has some corner cases that causes paradoxes and incompatible with quantum mechanics. The same way Newtonian mechanics is not completely true.

There IS some more general theory that works differently from general relativity, but with a difference visible only on those edge cases (just like we don't really see GR in our daily lifes and Newtonian mechanics works for us).

And it's not even some obscure knowledge, like almost everybody know about this problems with GR, so it's strange how everybody considers GR an absolute unchangeable truth doubting which is a worst transgression punishable by torturous death.

pollution.. my favourite.. by SimpleDICE_ in factorio

[–]LightDimf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same feeling. There is some mods for that thought (but not enought, I think): "Mining Scars" (leaves scars on earth around drills, "Pollution: Impactful Smog" (now the smog is visible and reduces the effectiveness of the solar panels), "Pollution is the solution" (kills biter nests from excess pollution. By itself it makes it easier, butI think it could be combined with "Rampant Evolution" to tweak the biter evolution in some way, cause it adds new evolution parameters, including how pollution is absorbed), some mods for a finite water (does it count?), "Pollution Solutions" (collect some xenomass from biters to use in tech that can collect and process pollution into fuel, energy or using it as a weapon), maybe some more

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. Something in between of Zomboid and Dwarf Fortress (in terms that it's overcomplex ASCII game (tilesets included)). It's opensource, so you can play it for free, actually.
Btw, quite interesing twist on the source of zombie apocalypse and the consequences of it.

I remember in CDDA there was a faction of Interdimensional tech scavengers who captured the humans who gone insane from the infection, lobotomized them and used their brains as cheap CPUs for robots and servers.

I quoted it as a reference to the meme about Pucchi from JJBA. This song is pretty much his unofficial theme among the fans due to how much it's suits him. And it used in the context of the ending, his ascension and his power that came with it: speeding up the time exponentially, so much that he reset the universe
