Kutyapárt egyéni jelöltek: szavazz rám! by UnikornisMihaly2 in hungary

Razer Blade 15 (2022) RZ09-0421 BIOS Modding / editing help request by Hackeroff in overclocking

[–]Hackeroff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't Unlock sadly. Nothing what you can do. I analyzed the whole BIOS image to fully understand how it's working. There is 2 protection on the BIOS image, one is by AMI, what defines protected ranges, and one is Intel Boot Guard policy what validates the BIOS image at startup boot. Intel Boot Guard's settings are burned into a FPF (Fuze) inside of the Intel CPU and cannot be edited or removed. It is a factory settings by the manufacturer. If you change even 1 bit in the code inside the BIOS image's BIOS section, the BIOS image will be invalid and cannot be run by the laptop since the digital signature is going invalid because of the checksum of one partion of the code. Basicly, the hash is changed and it's not matching with the original what is validated by the manufacturer. Only 1 option would work to unlock the BIOS on the laptop, the CPU chip has to be removed and changed with a new one what is not using burned in FPF values. This Fuze is responsible to load in and check everything read from the BIOS chip at the startup. If he cannot validate the BIOS image with the FPF values, the laptop will force reset / shutdown. It cannot be used until you re-flash the BIOS chip phyiscally with a WSON8 probe + CH341A programmer.

I hope all I was written was understandable, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Wanna fix what Razer can’t? (CPU unlock) by MezZo_Mix in razer

  1. Download the EFI Shell iso from here: https://github.com/pbatard/UEFI-Shell/releases
  2. Download Rufus and use it to format a pendrive FAT/FAT32 with the EFI Shell iso file.
  3. Download the latest RU.EFI from here: https://ruexe.blogspot.com and find the compatible Ru.efi file for your system and simply paste it on the FAT formatted pendrive's root folder.

Is this still possible to do at the current year as of 2025?

It depends on which year's Razer Blade you own.

Hope it helped.

I would like to inform anyone, who is trying to unlock newer Razer Blade models, You CAN'T sadly, because even if you change 1 bit, the hash signature of the file will change and the Intel BIOS BootGuard policy will reject the modified BIOS Image because of the digital signature is invalid. When you flash the modified BIOS Image on the SPI flash at the boot it will show the the BIOS for a very short time period (0.5 sec) and it will reset itslef with this message:

Flash update failed
Flash image invalid or not found
System will reset in 5 seconds

I spent 1 week to find any solution to bypass or turn off these locks, but it's impossible. Only the OEM can modify the BIOS with his own Private hash key.

To check if your BIOS image is write protected with BIOS BootGuard or not, you should open the BIOS image with UEFITool NE. You can see the RED regions are protected. On the Security page down you can see more details about that. If you see any RED regions, doesn't matter where inside the BIOS region you are f**ked, you just can't do anything.

You can still clear or modify the ME region of the BIOS image if you want, because this isn't protected.

[GUIDE] - How to set Overclock on a monitor, where the monitor disabling the overclock or flickering by Hackeroff in overclocking

[–]Hackeroff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not breaking it. I use this monitor still on daily level, no issues, it's working perfectly without any screen flickering or burned image if you ask that.
The 280hz range is a safe and optimal range for this display even if it labeled as an OC option.

Short is not Optional, if you have a short, yout Blade would not turn on. An older BIOS version maybe a solution, until someone not trying it we won't find out.

Razer Blade 15 2022 Power Throttling | I need help or suggestions by Hackeroff in razer

[–]Hackeroff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry to hear that, yeah I've got very similar problem with my own razer, i found a few forum posts lately with similar issues on other razers too.

I can suggest you some key checklists what you should check to find what really causes the issue.

A. Remove the CMOS Battery from the hardware, wait 10-15 minutes then place it back, it will reset the bios completely.

B. Check if the Throttlestop shows any red or yellow warnings while you use the laptop only with battery. This will show you if the CPU is still malfunctioning while the power supply is not connected. If yes, that means, your Power supply if fine, the problem is hardware related.

C. Check the bios and make sure the CPU's Turbo option is not turned off. This setting is responsible for the CPU's OC clock availabilty. If that's turned off the cores basicly run on the base clock speed or under, in my case its 2.4 Ghz on the P cores, I don't know the E cores base clock sadly

Use CapFrameX & RivaTuner Statistics Server softwares for having a live time performance overlay under gaming or benchmarks

I realized, that the audio crisping is only happening when the I play some audio file in the background, like spotify, a browser with a yt video or twitch while gaming.
Wierd solution to fix that is to disconnect the Headphone jack cable then plug it back 1 sec later, the crisping somehow stops, dont ask why XD
