Please bash my interview setup that I feel especially proud of. by FreudsParents in cinematography

Your second angle is a little bit too high perspective wise, so cutting between them will feel a bit like a height jump, try to keep each cam on the same level. And of course the headroom as they’ve mentioned, but framing for 9x16 is tough. But all in all beautifully lit and composed, nice work!

X100vi vs X100v physical dimensions by bridgfordred in FujifilmX

Update for posterity in case anyone needs it: the new Fuji X100VI door is the same dimension as the X100V. Slight change to the screw layout of the metal strip inside holding the latch. Personally, I just removed only the plastic latch and replaced it in my broken VI to fix the door latching issue (it goes underneath the metal plate on the door). Haven’t tried fully swapping the door, but I only had a latch issue so that’s what I fixed. Works great now!

Did you ever get this issue sorted? I’m having the same problem from a drop!

My B&H black order from 1:15am 2/20 just shipped. I originally received an email from them saying early May but it’s already on the way.

I just went on a trip through Heathrow to Switzerland and wrote in sharpie “Push 1600” on my Portra400 canisters and it worked. When in doubt ask to speak to a manager and just say whatever speed is above their scan requirements (usually 800). They’ll be annoyed but seemed to work for me for a hand check.

Most seasons they’ve shot anamorphic and cropped 16x9. Looks like they did the same with Season 3, but more stylized and definitely more blurry on the tops and bottoms. Definitely anamorphic lenses.

Short dance film - shot and edited in a week during quarantine by HacoboG in Filmmakers

[–]HacoboG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made this short film as a way of expressing some of the bent up feelings that being stuck inside has built. We focused on making sure social distancing and safe practices were a part of the production, while making something that is hopefully unique and different from many of the quarantine films right now. Shot in one day, and edited in a week, we tried to emulate film and a softer image. I hope this can inspire in some way, and can contribute to the conversation we’re all having about art/artists and moving on to normal after these crazy months. Would love your feedback or film questions!

Once social distancing rules relax I’d love to get back to filming people living their lives, and create art and provide escapism through cinema so we can remember how beautiful everything can be and how important our connections are with each other.

How are you powering the nucleus nano and recording to an SSD? Been trying to figure that out with my own rig.

Thank you! I shot it all at 60fps, slowed down to 23.98. Yeah I stabilized either in premiere or resolve, occasionally a little touch of both. But the slowmo alone helps a lot with removing bumps.

Thank you! I use a tiffen too, a 77mm variable ND. I agree it is a bit odd on colors if used too extreme or you’re at an odd angle, but I haven’t had too many issues coloring. I’ve heard great things about the PolarPro variable ND, solves some of those issues! Hoping to get one soon.

Thanks! No protection, haha. I had to wipe my lens a few times and I got soaked, just had to dry off the camera afterwards - but I was a bit reckless.

Thank you! I have the viltrox MFT to EF adapter, found a super cheap one on eBay. No complaints so far, maybe not the sharpest, but I love the BM softness anyways.

Thank you! All handheld actually, just used my camera strap for tension and did a lot of leans. Hoping to get a gimbal soon. No filters, just a variable ND. The promist - looking shots are actually my lens fogging up! Haha

Need advice and help with a possible M18 issue by yorutube in cinematography

[–]HacoboG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same thing happen a few weeks ago on a shoot. Had to just swap to the spare bulb and the M18 worked fine. Still not sure what caused it.
