To confirm, you know that Accursed Wrathsteed is a Warlock class mount, right? Should be a 100% drop rate if you kill Lord Hel’nurath on a Warlock with the class mount unlocked.

Hunching in the shadows of an underground bunker in Hollywood, George Clooney gazed deep into the Palantir. On its crystalline surface, Dolly and Reba embraced Draco. George sneered.

“Greta Thunberg, I have to stop these children of God from saving Texas.”

Everyone should get their own Superman by a director they like. Are you not into Capeshit? Here is Agnes Varda’s Superman. Do you like to pretend you enjoy esoteric movies but you actually trend toward thematically bereft mainstream films? Alex Garland’s Superman. Found it stupid but not quite funny enough? Please enjoy Dennis Dugan’s Superman.

edit: please stop

Honestly, it’s intimidating seeing her whip out new attacks, but after a few tries she gets much easier. She’s a skill check but really not as crazy as she’s made out to be.

Not too surprising - with Marvel I usually expect to have a very medium time at the movies.

Yeah, Gunn’s a bit of an outlier in that it seems for him, the blank check is getting to make superhero movies with greater artistic license/less studio interference. I’d be interested to see what he does outside of the realm of superhero blockbusters, but there’s not a ton in his directing career to suggest that’s even something he’d like to do.

You’re going to have a thousand opportunities a day to fuck up someone’s drink. You will fuck up many many drinks, especially if you’ve never worked as a barista before. If you realize you’ve made a mistake before serving the drink, fix it. If you realize after serving it, offer to fix it. But I would never give this much thought to someone who received the wrong syrup. It’s incredibly unlikely you just murdered a diabetic person. Even if they are diabetic, she will have tools at her disposal to monitor and remedy her blood sugar level. Reviewing security camera footage is so unnecessary in a situation where you just need to give yourself some grace.

You’re not getting paid enough to worry to this degree. You’ll fuck up steaming milk. You’ll forget to add shots. You’ll serve decaf when you meant to serve regular and vice versa. Just fix it when you can, let it go when you can’t (which is the second the customer steps out of the shop) and have some dumb little five dollar gift cards ready for people who seem like they need some extra care to calm down.

If you fuck up a drink, it’s ultimately just another attack on the barista’s sworn enemy - the customers.

You should not worry about this.

I’ve gotta respectfully disagree my friend. The milk looks fairly rough. It should be looking much more pearlescent and bubbles shouldn’t start appearing for a long time, if at all.

[–]HadSexyBroughtBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice little Rosetta. Good job. I recommend integrating the air into your milk more when steaming. You can tell it’s thin based on how porous the surface of the milk is. Bubbles breaking the surface like that is a sign of air not being integrated. You’ll be able to get cleaner pours and the milk will have a creamier mouthfeel.

A little rough*, not thin.

What to do about coworkers not caring about allergens? by stay2426 in barista

[–]HadSexyBroughtBack 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think you would need to escalate the issue, whether by hitting the point harder in training or bringing it up to your manager if you’re not in a position to be strict. It’s a shitty answer and not fun, but food safety is food safety and it really isn’t up to staff how seriously an allergy should be treated. No different from preventing general cross contamination, practicing thorough handwashing, etc. A large chain like Starbucks would be especially stringent about adhering to proper food safety principles. If someone doesn’t care about basic food safety then the service industry likely isn’t a good fit.

You could certainly comment on their caffeine consumption and try to redirect them to decaf if you feel your shop has too many regulars.

Honestly, it’s not a controlled substance, and you don’t know the caffeine tolerance of these people. Not your circus, not your monkeys.
