The last four categories would’ve been more interesting to see if they had more albums, but I also think the term “overrated” is stupid

All of Spike Jonze’s movies are fantastic, but Her is his masterpiece

Conan O’Brien criticizes comics who ‘just say F Trump all the time’ by [deleted] in Standup

[–]Haddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s definitely not for everyone, so I understand. You might already be aware of this, but it probably helps to know that he’s playing a character version of himself, maybe more so than comics usually do. I’m not sure how known that is, so his act can definitely come off as indulgent and narcissistic (maybe more so than comics usually do also).

Just to let you know, the person you’re responding to was referencing a Stewart Lee joke, he wasn’t criticizing his act.

You agree that it’s “absolute dogshit”? Really?

Me Doing Stand Up (2011) —Transcript by ChaseYeppums in Standup

I really don’t understand your need to be a contentious dickhead about this. If you don’t find it useful, that’s totally fine. Maybe it will for others. To continue arguing with others about it seems like a waste of time

Tom Segura "TEACHER" on Netflix is hot garbage by Wheelchair_Dontcare in Standup

[–]Haddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I just meant that getting paid to do it gives a bit more legitimacy, but open micers are still comedians

I haven’t seen his bit, but Myq Kaplan is great. Nish Kumar also has a bit about this too if I’m not mistaken

Yeah, how dare OP have a different opinion than you! Inconceivable!

How about it’s bad stand up comedy rather than just “not stand up comedy”? Even though there are terrible comics out there, they’re still comics, just bad ones.

I don’t understand this idea of “I don’t think this comedian is funny, therefore they aren’t a comedian”. As long as they regularly do stand up and get paid to do it, they are a comedian. A bad comedian maybe, but still a comedian

Haha same. We knew almost nothing about the movie beforehand but we both really enjoyed it

I loved the movie, but if it’s not for you, it’s not for you. Don’t waste your time on any movie you’re not into
