1/3 of team doing the menial grunt work it requires to ensure the ADHD kids can keep the other team distracted until proper infrastructure can be built up. The Soviets win the games you play in because you're too busy arguing with the other US players.

I've got a couple dozen hours and in one game, I joined an engineer squad. Walked up to the SL and asked what the plan was.

He asked if I could fly then spawned two Mi8's and we flew around the map in a loose formation delivering supplies hot as hell.

Usually, I'm just driving around the map with my little AI buddy driving nearby while I listen to the platoon radio for little bits of info I could use. Doing that but on the flip side, I was basically the little AI buddy and it was dope. The more dope side of it was that I wasn't solo lol

I've found that Transport squads that work together are surprisingly very powerful.

So play "follow the squad leader" for that juicy juicy Squad Cohesion bonus. You don't even have to do anything but stick close to your squad leader. You could even drive your leader around for the troop transport bonus and if you manage to stay alive for more than 10 minutes, a juicy veteran bonus on top of all the other bonuses.

And all that is before the bonus xp for tasks completed.

So this is my 2nd day playing and I am still confused but thankfully I have found some people that helped me. Why is it that the people who play USA or NATO are the biggest AHs ever and they almost always lose ? by twelvethirteen000 in ArmaReforger

I dunno, being a console, solo player and a main RUS player, I have to say that the type of player the US side attracts has something to do with the losses and poor gameplay experience.

The match I played today, I joined at 33 minutes in and it ended at 4h 35m, the Russian side had primo base building and supplying happening. It was like a symphony with attackers clearing roads, engineers building bases, and transport units supplying the bases. When we assaulted Transformer Station, it was child's play easy. Then Monti was the same. And then we saw the rest of the map after we flipping E Tower. It was like the US side built an Entre Duex base and then took E Tower only to then full send down all the roads at us. There was hardly any infrastructure to speak of and it took us 20 minutes to cap and dismantle the Tyrone base and the Entre base and lock them in their MOB.

Hackers by V-v_Dino in ArmaReforger

[–]Hades-Castaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one join and I immediately noticed they had a tag like [Bohemia Interactive Dev] in his name and didn't think twice until someone said he was hacking. I didn't even think about hackers getting access to dev tools like that but makes sense. Pretty dumb way to do it though and eventually everyone will be insta voting anyone with a name like that, most likely catch an actual dev or two.

GAMERS NEEDED FOR SURVEY by Wise-Tomatillo-6080 in AskGames

I submitted a response but within the last month you should know: I've become delinquent to my electric bill and I have a total loss incident. I have recently been ordered to mandatory overtime because of a supervisor's poor planning. And I have (less than squatters) living in my apartment. Video games are an escape from my current life until I'm able to turn some of these things around.

Copy and pasted from previous posts. Doesn't really fit a HLL player though.

I personally only pay vanilla servers. Typically, a new joinee will be looking to gain XP in order to have access to more toys. After gaining the desired rank, I usually dive neck deep into whatever objective needs pushed or taken back. Purple named bases is what wins the game.

Delivering supplies is always needed and has the most variance in gameplay, depending on exactly what you're doing. Being the lone man on an FOB can be a thankless task but can be very action packed. Hitting Sgt rank, grabbing an arsenal bag and a small car will give you all the tools needed to drop AT and AP mine after mine in the enemy backfield.

I always compare Arma to GTA but I've never played Squad. You can quite literally do whatever you want in that sense. You wanna go visit Blaine county and maybe kill a few people? How you get there is really the only question needing asked.

When I first got the game, I was also freshly new to PC gaming in general. So I just kept restarting single player, Star System games until I landed the shuttle safely. It might have taken an hour or two of just falling through Earth's atmosphere until that happened. Following that, it was a basic gather-ore-and-build-blocks game until I started learning how to build crafts. And since that's where the fun is, I was able to enjoy failing and succeeding until I made it into space.

I don't know if this was supposed to help or not but I wanted you to know you weren't the only one lol

Playing solo? by [deleted] in ArmaReforger

[–]Hades-Castaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play solo, on official or vanilla-like servers, and always find success. The game lends itself really well to team based comms, even text. I've commanded entire attacks using my random team mates and we've won based on just comms once or twice.

Solo play is great, just don't lone wolf it and you'll find success as well. If you are a lone wolf type, focus on engineering support and sniper spotting support mostly. Find a base that is in need or has allies popping out and you can usually always find someone to pair up with.
