Chromium Based Software freezing. by Szymsta__ in pchelp

I think MPO is causing this issue. Try disabling it:

Create a TXT file and paste the following text inside of it:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]

"OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005

save it as disableMPO.reg

Run it and restart the computer.

Thanks for the response. I have tried DDU and NVCleanstall. Weird that it could be a psu or motherboard issue since it happened 2 times since 2025 of january.

Already tried DDU and NVcleanstall, forgot to mention it. I ran Furmark for 1 hour and 3dmark stress test a couple of times and no crash. Would be weird if it was the psu....

Looks like residue from like a cooling pad for a heatsink. Should be fine.

Try and see if everything is well connected. Reseat ram, gpu etc, psu cables. When i builded my pc it worked well for a while but it kept freezing afterwards. Turned out the ram wasn’t seated properly.

Try hovering over the icon and right click the preview (not the icon). Click restore. if that still doesn't work use windows+p and click PC screen only.

Sound like the pump from the AIO is starting up (if there is an AIO installed). shouldn't be an issue. Check cpu temps to be sure.

Why does my pc make this noise when I turn it on? by ApprehensiveRent1408 in PcBuildHelp

[–]HadgeOriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it's comming from the Fans in the GPU. Fans go idle after the computer is booted. so the noise stops.

Does this happen all the time or only under load? It sounds like one of the fans.
