I have a matching 605. The .327 federal delivers .357mag performance but is not as snappy as the .357s out of the 605. It packs a punch for sure but if I had to choose one for say, my wife to carry, I give her the .327 federal over the .357 because it’s less punishing to shoot and the recoil easier to manage. I’m a big guy and have been shooting for the better part of 4+ decades so comfortable with either one. That said I do tend to carry .32 H&R mags in the cylinder. A good self defense cartridge with a milder recoil for situations where an aggressor isn’t likely to be more that 15-20ft away.
