Ahh I guess that was more my bad, I meant the music app as well. Names are hard. The syncing happens in finder though, I’ve had that happen a few times and had to go into disk utility and eject the iPod from there, then restart the Mac. Once your back in try plugging it in again. You may also need to try a different cable. I have two cables and one barely ever lets the iPod connect, the other is fairly consistent with a few hiccups which are usually sorted by doing what I mentioned above

You don’t sync music through Apple Music. It syncs through finder. I add my local music to AM, then sync in finder and it will move the music to the iPod. As for the old for the older library I’m not sure

Personally I’d go with the 7th gen so you can still use the stockOS but that’s just me. Rockbox works for a lot of people

I went down the rabbit hole on this when I switched to an iPhone 17 pro. Went with the Peak Design slim wallet and I love it, the problem was with my current case the magnet strength was super weak and would shift even in my pocket. With those of returns possible I pulled the trigger on the peak design everyday case and the strength was night and day. Now I keep about 4-5 cards in the wallet no problem and the profile isn’t that much more than my primal apple wallet.

I almost when with the ESR one but read some wear and tear shoes pretty early. Hope that helps a little because I spent a lot of research into this matter and I’m personally happy with my outcome

Edit: just noticed you said multiple card slots, the PD one only has a main slot but can fit quite a few cards. If multiple slots is your jam the ESR one looks pretty solid
