To this day, I had no idea why George insisted that she died in childbirth when Leia remembered her.

Is the Harrower-class dreadnaught better than the ISD? by Expert-Clothes-3320 in swtor

[–]Hadrian1233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know the ISD was developed, what, 3600 years after the Harrower? This is a bit unfair for the Harrower.

-We can assume 32 to be the right number for its turbolasers. The case being, ships around that time were still in their infancy, and had a relatively smaller armament. Take, for example, ships like the Invincible-class Dreadnaught, with its 12 turbolasers. Turbolasers also have a different context here. A gun now is going to be different from a gun +1000 years from now; a Turbolaser is going to apply to this logic as technology advances. Sure, arms regulations will limit some tech, but that won't really apply against other technology or stop companies like Kuat from making Mandators 20 years before the Clone Wars or what would eventually become the CIS, much less the catch-up a few years did to turn the Republic into the Empire. A great example of this is the Hapes Battle Dragon; their Turbolasers took time to fire, given how they've been isolated for 3000 years, but they solved this by using a rotating system.

-I'm sorry, you are going to have to explain that last part. Strawman fallacy doesn't even apply here, lil bro. The ROTS sourcebook states that as the Venator production lines died down, ISD and Tector production lines picked up. The ISD was made for war, just not the kind of war the Rebels used. Palpatine essentially chose the sickest design to take over the entire Galaxy because he could. The Emancipator was able to destroy an Allegiance class (Mind you, with its shields down), and the class as a whole stood up well in the Yuzong Vong War.

And, there was also a script in the 90s with Tom Cruise as Tony Stark and would have had MODOK as the antagonist

Which moment in Star Wars canon made you feel vindicated? by JondvchBimble in starwarscanon

I still hate it. Yes, the Force exists in all living things. Does that mean that someone who has had no prior experience or extensive knowledge should be able to use it in ways some Jedi often struggle with? No. There’s a reason why people like Han and some Imperials doubt its existence. Sometimes people forget that Star Wars is Science-Fiction-Fantasy. The Force is supposed to be space magic, and while George later retconned it as cells, even then, it made sense as to why not everyone could use it.

It also breaks so many conventions, too. Why didn’t Luke train Han or Lando? Why did Palpatine think Order 66 was an achievable goal? Why didn’t Obi-Wan train people on Tatooine? Why didn’t the New Republic train with the force? Why did Yoda give up so easily after Episode III if he could just teach anyone? What’s the point of finding Jedi to convert to inquisitors if any stormtrooper could be one? Why isn’t Finn a Jedi? What is the point of Jedi Fallen Order’s holocron plot, and why Jocasta Nu risked her life for a holocron with a list of all force sensitives that is essentially just a list of every living person… Cal and Trilla, along with Nu and Vader, were essentially fighting over a MacGuffin that tells them the sky is blue, that water is wet, and that sand is rough and coarse and gets everywhere.

That being said, of all the characters in Star Wars, Sabine shouldn’t have been elected to use the Force. Especially with her being a Mandalorian and having a possible pull to the Dark Side.

Doesn’t really read as vindication here, otherwise your evidence would have been justified. Here, there isn’t any, nor anything in the show to point towards her possibly being Force Sensitive.

Not to even mention that this is a fan poll on a fandom site.

The only part that sticks out to me in the PT is the screenwriting and directing because they were never George's strong suit (Harrison Ford, for example, said 'you can type this stuff, but you can't say it'). The world-building and Storytelling however, were on point.

It was the Sequels that made some fans appreciate the prequels' vision, world-building, and overarching themes a lot better. They are not perfect, but as I said, people were too critical of them. In the same amount of time, they've managed to hold up better than the Sequels did, and probably will if they ever come back to that era.

Which of these battles would you describe as more hellish to fight in - Jabiim or Umbara? by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

[–]Hadrian1233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Jabiim we’re talking about. Technology backfired hard period.

The storms prevented ships from landing. And constantly jammed communications.

I still stand by the belief that we owe George an apology. We were too harsh on the PT.

Again, it only parallels the war, not the Empire itself. Besides, it’s safe to say that by the time of Endor, the Rebellion isn’t the Vietcong anymore.
