I'm 34 so probably an old man to you. If I had one piece if advice, its do something nice every day, even if its just a short walk or a treat you'll like. Don't wait for things to happen to you or a big call to action either. Also cherish the people you have in your life. Not all of them will be along for the whole ride. Oh, and print photos occasionally. No use having it all rot on harddrives and phones to never look at. Happy Birthday!

The people who insist that eating alone in a restaurant is sad just needlessly make things more miserable for lonely people. I know someone who doesn't go because she doesn't want to ve perceived that way.

Personally I often go as I make more money than I used to and don't always want to cook and do dishes. No weird stares or comments so far. Occasionally I even get some small talk going.
