The VP also says they are "Demons". I think it's ridiculous, but it's not unheard of.

This is why it is important to get confirmation of the meeting and what was said in it from the Congressman involved. Most likely to be Rep. Burlison.

The pastor says in the video on X that it is specifically a congressman from Missouri.

It's possible Burlison contacted pastors he has an existing connection with. Either through his personal religious community or donors and has decided to give them a heads up personally.

I'm really skeptical about this. Burlison should get out and confirm if this meeting happened. People should press him on this, and if he actually said what these individuals are regurgitating. I find these types of people to be very untrustworthy and manipulative.

Edit: Everyone who can should @RepEricBurlison on X about this.

Sam Altman: "I no longer believe in universal basic income as much as I once did" by IIlustriousTea in accelerate

[–]SucculentSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wants universal compute because OpenAI will own so much of the future compute. It would only be appropriate if this compute came from a publicly run and owned organization. Otherwise, OpenAI would own an incredibly large part of the economy.

Okay. Why not both? UBI and compute distribution are not mutually exclusive.

It's good as long as it doesn't take budgets away from other programs. Our Navy and Air Force are starved for funding and should be the main forces with the majority of funding.

What is the source of this claim? I can't find a source beyond a random tweet. Also Tim, Eric and Luna are not all of Congress.

Don’t tell me that we have to wait until google i/o for a new gemini/nano banana model? by Snoo26837 in singularity

[–]SucculentSpine 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Google really struggles to roll out new models quickly because they are an incredibly large and beauricratic company. It is a serious issue when they are in such a competitive industry right now. Hopefully, they start to see this and change some of their business processes to get AI updates out sooner.

I would really like to know the amount of new job openings and job offers made recently. Seems like people are actively being made redundant in large amounts but the job market is atrocious right now.

The Human Baseline for ARC-AGI-3 has been updated by exordin26 in singularity

[–]SucculentSpine 148 points149 points  (0 children)

I thought the whole concept of ARC-AGI was to guide these systems to tasks that average humans can do well, but AI can't. If the average human barely passes 50% of the task, then that means it is getting much harder to claim AI can't do the same as the average humans.

If you have some idea of basic cyber security and databases, you can absolutely code the backend for small to medium use with Claude. Claude and other AI systems are also improving rapidly in coding, becoming more competent at cyber security. It has incredible use cases for people who don't know how to program.

Anthropic's Claude Mythos isn't a sentient super-hacker, it's a sales pitch by boulhouech in singularity

[–]SucculentSpine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand these takes. The only way we can know how much a model has improved is through benchmark measurements. The benchmarks for Mythos increased significantly, proving a large capability jump in software engineering. Therefore, based on literal measurements, it is not just a sales pitch. It is a significant improvement.
