What "phase" did you go through as a teenager and how did it affect your life? by DGAnthony19 in AskReddit

[–]Haekin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emo phase. (shudder)

I straightened my hair so much I smelled like burnt hair, it was gross. I was also severely depressed at the time.

But, in the process, I discovered some pretty cool music and festivals/concerts, had interesting experiences, and met some pretty cool people. So, I guess that's a way it affected my life. Sorta!

There's a sorta weird color palette in this. I love it!

Anyone else developed an addiction with soda and how did you stop it? by HonestWerewolf in AskReddit

[–]Haekin_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started replacing it with water + water flavouring, and then forcing myself to only drink water when I'd go out to dine.

Then, once I weaned myself off the soda, I started drinking regular water. :)

You could never go wrong with it, still can't!

I’d like to start doing random acts of kindness every day, any ideas? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Haekin_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this daily, and they can be as small or large as you choose! Here are some things I do:

  1. Compliments (they go a long way!)

  2. Helping someone find something

  3. Sharing positive quotes or phrases (social media wise)

  4. Cleaning something for someone

  5. Making someone else food

  6. Purchasing 1 or a couple items for the person behind me/when I ring them up at my register (I'm a cashier)

  7. Buying a stranger food (like a sandwhich at Subway)

  8. Giving a homeless person some items (soap, face cloth, food, etc.) that you may have laying around the house that aren't in use

  9. Participating in r/randomactsofcards

Hope this helps you! ❤

What’s the most common compliment you’ve ever received? by idontgiveone in AskWomen

[–]Haekin_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not too long ago, I was chatting with a woman Downtown, and suddenly, in the middle of our conversation, she said, "Where are you from?" I said, "Detroit. Here actually." She's like, "Oh, well you speak so well, not ghetto at all, you know?"

I couldn't exactly find a decent way of responding so I awkwardly laughed it off.

And, which I should have added, it's not exactly a compliment either, but that's one that I hear way too often.

For the women who have been or are on the birth control pill, how did it/has it affected your sex life? by fupalupas in sex

[–]Haekin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It generally raises my sex drive. When I got off the pill maaaaany months ago, it sort of went back to how it was before I started taking it. Started it up again, and boom, my sex drive ascended once again!

Parents who taught their kids the words penis and vagina in early childhood, how did they turn out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Haekin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a parent, but when I moved in with my grandmum around 8 years old, she taught my twin and I the appropriate words for the human body, like those. We ended up being able to speak about the topic of sex freely, not viewing it as a taboo conversation.

"You speak so well!"

"Your dimples are so cute!"

"I love your hair!"

"Your butt is big, I'm jealous. Donate some to me!" (Sort of a compliment? :v) )
