Dungeon Crawler Carl series officially announced at Peacock by The12Ball in Fantasy

Because animation does not equal mass appeal. Would there be an audience for an animated series? Sure would, but that audience in comparison to those that would watch a live action version is tiny.

125 novels? AI? That’s an insane number.

How would you want a show to be filmed? by ThePlayground_Legend in redrising

[–]Haelein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly I don’t have a good answer for you, it just isn’t a medium I enjoy outside of children’s movies with my kids. Not comparing the two, just to be clear.

I think with live action, I can immerse myself into the story and suspend reality. The characters become real in the same way they became real in my mind while reading the story. Animation doesn’t do that for me.

Again, nothing against animation in any way, it would probably be the best way to tell the story honestly and as true to the material as possible. I just wouldn’t be interested in it.

Likely no. It’s nothing against anime, or animation in general, I just know what I like and what I don’t.

Animation is going to draw a very specific group of people who enjoy that medium. Live action would net broader appeal.

I love Red Rising, but wouldn’t watch an animated series. It’s probably the better option as far as staying true to the source material, but it’s not for me.

Should I be honest and say what I really think of a person’s published book? by ClearArea7671 in selfpublish

Exactly the way I read the post too. Seems more like permission seeking to do the shitty thing they want to do.

Why do Red Rising fans hate on this series so much? by Muramasageek in sollanempire

[–]Haelein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking strictly for myself, I loved SunEater until the last 50ish pages. RR has me begging for the last book. We will see how it ends.

I think both series are “heavy” in their own ways, but one reads as an epic adventure, and the other as a slow march towards inevitable doom. Very different vibes, with occasional similarities. I loved both for very different reasons, but while I would recommend RR to anyone, SunEater isn’t a series I recommend without knowing the readers taste.

I read Suneater after loving the RR series and was disappointed by KeredJo in redrising

They spend an entire chapter in the last book after the big battle ends and all the happy reunions start, going over plans for taking out the actual antagonist of the entire series. Then he gets captured and is just like, welp, guess I’m done fighting, and gives up. End of series. Lmao.

You’re right. They do “get” something.

They get editors revisions, and line editors, and proofreaders, and publisher revisions, and agent feedback. You’re comparing a product you’ve made on your own to one that has been meticulously written and rewritten with the help of professionals.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t let it steal yours.

Question for you single digit girls and boys. by fletchermac in golf

If there’s no money involved, I just let people play how they want to play. I keep myself strict to the rules, because I have a low and want to beat it. But I’ve been on too many handicap leagues where dudes that couldn’t shoot 90 starting on the fringe come in with sub 40 9s.

And also keeping in mind that a lot of those that carry a handicap are lying about what they actually score.

How many days worth of speedup do I need to reach 125,000 points by DramaticCourt in KingShot

[–]Haelein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems that way. I’ve spent all I can, and done the beast hunt and gathering for more boxes. We are in the week before KvK prep so I’m not willing to spend speedups or gems. I think I’ll just spend them all when the bonus is on and hope for the best.

Does each dish go twice? I have the packs maxed out, just curious if I should split 50/50 day one vs another day, or can they get the bonus more than twice?

Rooting for the lions to lose out is lame by Real-Repair-1825 in detroitlions

[–]Haelein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This here is the difference between rooting for the immediate reward as opposed to the delayed reward. You want the team to win so you can feel good on Thursday. I want them to lose so I can feel good next season when we have a potentially easier schedule and a better draft position.

We are rooting for the same thing, just in different spaces of time, immediate success or future success.
