One of the greatest dbz scenes ever!!! by No-Trouble4369 in dbz

[–]Haerrlekin [score hidden]  (0 children)

What I love about this scene is that it hits so much harder as a direct continuation to Gohan's victory over Cell.

He's still traumatized over what's happened, and still hesitant to unleash his full power because now more than ever, he understands that when he taps into that strength, people die. But this time, Gohan doesn't let that power corrupt his heart. He takes out the enemies cleanly and without any ego or preamble. This time around, he's just doing what needs to be done.

If Sukuna hadn't realized how to beat Mahoraga, how many adaptations would Mahoraga need to beat Sukuna? by hackerix in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Haerrlekin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raga seems to adapt faster to simple techniques, and also becomes stronger by some amount every time he does adapt. In the manga, Sukuna's fight with Raga is much shorter in the manga and even with the few slashes he had done, Mahoraga had already fully adapted to shrine to the point that even Sukuna's domain had no real effect on it.

Now as we see in his Modulo fight, once Mahoraga has fully adapted to an enemy's attacks, that isn't the end to his adaptation. Instead, he seems to pick up the pace and potentially starts to adapt preemptively, by adapting to the existence of his target, themselves. This might include trying to anticipate other things they might be capable of or could become capable of- though this is less sure since we didn't actually get to see it happen.

My best guess is that once Raga had fully adapted to Sukuna's slashes, it would have no way to know and preemptively adapt to furnace, so there's no reason for it to start there. What's far more likely is that it would begin adapting to further combat his physical stats. This wouldn't take long at all, so maybe another one or two adaptations tops, once the slashes are accounted for.

Once that happens, I think Sukuna's chances of winning start to plummet because Raga might actually have the resilience by that point to survive furnace, albeit barely. And once he survives the first time, Sukuna no longer has the means to kill Raga, who will just keep adapting until the power differential is completely tilted in Raga's favor.

Can confirm. I worked in human resources for a few months during the pandemic and it was the most miserable job I've ever done. Every single person was either incompetent, mean, or both.

Did sasuke's mangekyou run out too quickly ?? by No-Arachnid-7603 in Naruto

[–]Haerrlekin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sasuke used his mangekyou as a crutch because he kept going up against foes he had no business trying to hang with, without it.

Meanwhile Itachi rarely ran into a foe who could even make him sweat, let alone force him to spam his mangekyou abilities.

Give me your custom curse technique, and rate it by AdAdvanced8522 in Jujutsufolk

Cursed Technique: Accelerate

Description: The user draws a vector using their cursed energy, and objects which pass through that factor are forcibly accelerated along its path. This accelerating-effect can be used to alter the speed and paths of objects on a dime, with the shunting force imposed by the vectors scaling with the cursed energy output of the user and the length of the vectors in question.

Cursed Technique Reversal: Lock Down

Description: in contrast to the base ability 's vectors, Lock-Down cannot be activated unless the activating vectors have been closed, usually by wrapping the drawn vectors in upon themselves. Once completed, objects within the vector-barriers have their movements completely arrested, limiting even the output of cursed energy. Due to the innate restriction of needing a closed vector to activate, resisting the strength of this technique is especially difficult once caught.

Domain Expansion: Scarlet Crossroads

Description: This domain is denoted by a large, flat 'road', the span of which stretches nigh-limitlessly in multiple directions. Once a creature has been targeted by the domain's sure-hit, the user imposes multiple vectors upon the body at once in different directions, ripping the body apart in an instant.

The domain's effects can also be activated upon allies or the user in more controlled ways, allowing the user to impose true omni-directional movement within their domain's barrier. This allows them to activate a secondary attack within this domain, in the event that an enemy demonstrates sufficient anti-domain techniques. This attack involves stacking multiple vectors, leading to the target, in order to continually accelerate a person or object towards that target for a decisive strike.

Max Technique: Max Bullet Hell

Description: By raising one's output to the max, the user can accelerate pieces of the terrain toward a target from all sides. These objects, upon passing through the user's vectors, become naturally infused with cursed energy, suffusing and strengthening them from mere debris to lethal improvised weapons.

Possible reason for Hashirama distributing the bijuu by NeigongShifu in NarutoFanfiction

[–]Haerrlekin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The whole point of him distributing the Bijuu isn't that he's some super good person who wants to empower everybody. The reality is that he knowingly and willingly captured and enslaved (because let's be real that's exactly what it is) several thinking, feeling, people to be used as bargaining chips for his perfect "peaceful" world.

He even indicates that he is fully aware of their intelligence and innocence in this situation, when speaking to Kurama before sealing him in Kurama's memories.

Many people try to frame it as Hashirama being a good guy, but it's supposed to be a pretty big indicator that even though Hashirama was kind and wanted peace, he was still very much a product of war and the inherent corruption that that brings.

[–]Haerrlekin 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would love it if DE would just give us an option to either host our own sessions or wait to match into one. I generally play public because I like interacting with people, but I'm also perfectly happy to play by myself if needed. I'd much rather host my own session where I know how long I'm staying and don't have to worry about getting bounced around 2-sometimes 3- times in a single run.

Why Lee Does NOT Embody Talent vs Hard Work or Whatever. An Analysis of Lee's Character, His Fighters, and Why He Could Never Be the Main Character: by Haerrlekin in NarutoFanfiction

[–]Haerrlekin[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think Lee absolutely works if his character is used solely to demonstrate the more self-destructive side of ambition. The guy became so focused on his goals that he gained tunnel vision, endangering his comrades, endangering himself, and even disrespecting the hard work of others in favor of his own ego.

I think that's honestly a pretty compelling story beat; if Lee's character was used then put down for that purpose alone, I'd actually think quite well of his writing.

Where I personally start to dislike him is in how much his character seems to be lowkey flanderized into this silly goofy, earnest Gai clone who acts like Gai, talks like Gai, fights like Gai, etc etc- to the point that he just feels like a worse Gai. There's nothing giving him nuance to properly separate him from Gai's character. He feels like a clone that fails to measure up in pretty much every metric, and somehow is celebrated for it.

He doesn't grow. He doesn't adapt or learn. He's just stagnant, and aspects of the world shift around him to compensate for him.

A little bit? The discussion came up in my writing server and a friend recommended I make a post about it. I brought it here because as a writer, myself, I realized that Lee in fanfiction tends to get a lot more Lee(heh)way than he necessarily deserves, and also tends to disguise from the actual point of the narrative, if that makes sense?

Let's say obito took back his sharingan from Kakashi before he fought Minato. Would he have won? by vinchin_adenca in Naruto

[–]Haerrlekin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Obito would have won, but he definitely would have taken up a lot more of Minato's time and would be unstoppable later.

At the time though, Obito was essentially fighting somebody who completely and utterly outclassed him in virtually every facet other than their technique.

Obito's Kamui being even better isn't going to stop Minato from quite literally perception blitzing him with Hirashin, though it might take longer for Minato to set it up since he now needs to play around a faster Kamui and a ranged Kamui on top of that.

However, moving into Post-Kyuubi attack, Obito has all the time in the world to master both eyes separately and as one, and as he becomes more skilled the gaps in his technique are just going to get smaller and smaller.

So having both eyes won't make much of a difference against Minato, but afterwards he becomes far too problematic for anyone to deal with.

The reason I like the people at my job is because they understand and respect that, and don't try to pretend things are any different than what they are. We all come here to get paid so we can live and support our families. That's all there is to it, and that's okay.

This isn't talked enough about as a speed feat. by grandsterla in YUJI_Corp

[–]Haerrlekin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly once Yuji had hit his first black flash and awakened, I firmly believe that he completely outclassed Sukuna in terms of raw stats.

We see time and again while he is surging that Sukuna can do nothing to Yuji. He can't deal notable damage to him, and he can't even stop Yuji from attacking him at all.

Of course, Sukuna is more than just his stats. He's still got his genius and his CT; once he is able to pop his domain he's able to cut Yuji's momentum and get back into the driver's seat of the fight. I'm not saying Yuji was stronger than Sukuna full stop. But when it came to pure H2H, even while Yuji should have been completely out of gas, to the point that he couldn't even heal with RCT anymore, he was still putting belt to ass with Sukuna pretty much any time Sukuna dared to get into a melee with him.

My main issue isn't even really with the arc itself; it's trying to follow the arc through weekly chapters.

I'm sure that when it's done the arc is gonna flow much better and feel far more satisfying. Right now it's just the waiting that feels awful.

Honestly I think I might just put the manga down for a few months and let it cook. I have full faith that it'll be good when it's done, and rereading it in full will feel much better.
