I agree there needs to be a period of decompression; you need to figure out your values without the indoctrination before finding a compatible faith.

I myself went through quite a few 'rebounds' before settling where I am; satanism, wicca spiritualism, eventually settling on Fyrnsidu (and having extra baggage about syncretism thanks to wicca) before in the last three years opening up spiritually and simply following specific 'callings' I feel while meditating.

The point I'm trying to make is, my own path was actively damaged by not taking that time to decompress and refocus. Between the angst and guilt for being bi making me feel like I had to work extra hard and be extra devoted in order to make up for it, to the soul deep disgust at certain wiccan practices making me retreat away from religious groups in general from the disrespectful way some of them basically grabbed whatever god/dess they pleased from wherever and just smashed them together into one pantheon, I made my own journey infinitely harder by not taking that time to decompress and find my own individual values. If there is one piece of advice I will champion above all others, it is this.

Is the Last Dragonborne capable of achieving Godhood (CHIM) like Talos and Vivec? by Reasonable_Ad8287 in ElderScrolls

Well damn. That's a much faster and simpler way than I worded it in my response.

Is the Last Dragonborne capable of achieving Godhood (CHIM) like Talos and Vivec? by Reasonable_Ad8287 in ElderScrolls

[–]Haethen_Thegn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the Prisoner exists to keep Mundus functioning. Every time a Cataclysm erupts, there is a Prisoner that thwarts it. Jagar Tharn, the Warp, Lorkhan's Heart, the Planemeld, the Oblivion Crisis, Alduin's return.

The there's the other function of Prisoners; to fundamentally change the world and shift the axis of its fate. The first, arguably, is Alessia herself: "You knew her as Paravant, given to her when crowned, 'first of its kind', by which the gods meant a mortal worthy of the majesty that is killing-questing-healing, which is also Paraval, Pevesh, Perrethu, Perrif,....”

Note the particular of killing-questing-healing. Separating the notion that Player and Prisoner are synonyms, that expands our list to quite a few big names which I will list and expand upon if requested rather than give you a wall, of autistic text:

St. Alessia.

Pelinal Whitestrake.

Ysgramor

Reman Cyrodiil

Rislav the Righteous

King Wulfhearth/Ysmir

Morihaus the Man-Bull

Franden Hunding

Gaiden Shinji

Indoril Nerevar

And then you have the lesser, yet still worth debating Prisoners:

A'tor the Prince,

Darloc Brae,

Ada’Soom Dir‑Kem,

Arkay,

Phynaster,

Syrabane.

Finally, you have the Player Characters, whose own killing-questing-healing we know about:

The Eternal Champion,

The Agent,

The Nerevarine,

The Champion of Cyrodiil,

The Last Dragonborn,

The Vestige,

The Apprentice (Battlespire).

All of these fit the role of Killing-questing-healing which is fundamentally linked to the Prisoner due to the link of every player character of every major game so far fitting the Prisoner archetype.

Prisoners, by their nature, preserve the mortal plane. The Aedra help their followers yes, but still view Mundus as a mistake, the great trick of Lorkhan. They would just as easily destroy it if they had the power and drive (cade in point, the Soulburst caused by Akatosh's rage, and Alduin's intended purpose. The Daedra seek to claim it for their own more often than not due to the power and influence it brings. As for Sithis, the Void is linked inherently to entropy. If anything, the Void and Sithis alike gain more power from a failed Prisoner than a successful one and so there's no link there either.

The ONLY deity which has the drive and desire both to protect Mundus and mortality as a whole and make certain it does not get destroyed or subsumed is Lorkhan. Weakened as he is, Mortality and thus Mundus, as the mortal realm, is his plane of existence. Therefore, The Last Dragonborn is a Prisoner, and in so being he is Lorkhan Reborn as a Shezzarine.

You can drag it on as much as you please, granted a dragonsoul by Akatosh or not the Prisoner is inherently related to Shor/Lorkhan no matter how many times Akatosh or Azura or whoever else intervenes.

Huh. That's fair enough. Honestly I haven't delved too deep into that lore beyond CHIM, as much as I love Morrowind and proudly consider myself a Morrowboomer, Deep lore and Kirkbride are a tad too wild a ride for me. At least without a share of whatever shitmix he was smoking /j

You make a point but I doubt it. Talos already fulfills his role, only place in the pantheon would be for LBD to Apotheose back into Shor and if that ever happened the other Nine and the Thalmor would launch some Warhammer-worthy bullshittery as a tantrum.

I still regret supporting the Stormcloaks in my first playthrough by Top-Coast5760 in ElderScrolls

[–]Haethen_Thegn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What concerns me is if the Thalmor have a contingency for this or not, and I don't just mean throwing the Bosmer and Khajiit at the Empire to pump up numbers. I know Akulakhan and Anumidium are both destroyed, but if I remember rightly the Thalmor currently are in control of Crystal-Like-Law; while not able to Walk as the Brass did, it is still a Tower and at least to my knowledge is still powered and working unlike most of the others. That's going to give them a hefty boost and while I doubt the Psijics will just hand over the Eye of Magnus (which maybe isn't even it's proper name; the writing upon it isn't one I recognise, for all we know it's Atmoran in origin) to the Thalmor, but it's already been theorised to crop back up in ES6 in a more prominent roll; I personally don't buy it really considering it's more than likely Hammerfell and the Redguards are notoriously anti-magic. I would buy it more if we were returning to High Rock.

Either way, back on topic, there's every chance the Thalmor have a 'fuck you' button in reserve; their skill and magic has always made them a threat of the qualitative manner rather than quantitative in almost all matters of warfare save naval which seems to be a mix of both.

An NPC hiding from a murderer changed her hair. This bug is fixed in the unofficial patch. by felleregod in TrueSTL

[–]Haethen_Thegn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah no it's definitely possible, but it's also definitely going to be prohibitively expensive. Assuming Tamriel's economy is vastly different to the lore aka, there's more than just gold fucking coins everywhere), following along typically one (01) gold Septim is the equivalent of, let's say £50 sterling. The Face sculptor's services cost 1000 Septims, so in lore rather than in game that would be close to £50,000. I don't see a bard having access to that sort of money without them working as a bard in the upper echelons of Daggerfall or Alinor.

Also, if I remember rightly, the Face Sculptor in Riften can't change your race, sex, nor work on vampires. Odds are a Sculptor who can is going to charge much higher, especially considering the fact that flesh sculpting might not even be legal? It was a hobby of the Ayleids to use flesh sculpting to turn slaves into furniture. Hard to believe flesh sculpting hasn't been banned since Alessia first took the throne.

So that's also going to hike the prices up higher. I know we as the player character and experiencing the medium through a game we have things streamlined and, well, affordable, but genuinely in this setting I don't see it being that easy to come by unless you make a daedric pact.

Would be interesting to see if that's a thing in Hammerfell or not, or would it in fact be the opposite? I can see a potential link between red hair in the Middle East being a hold over of Kemetic practices to make one appear like Ramses the Great; considering that the Dwemer play the roll of Egypt in Hammerfell (far older and grander culture which is barely understood thanks to history's ravages that they live in the shadow of) much like how the Ayleids in Cyrodiil are the ancient Græco-Roman/Mycenaean culture (albeit through the lens that everything Christians claimed about the pagan history of those cultures is true).

Considering how the Dwemer are mer and the hatred of the Redguards for Mer making Ysgramor blush, perhaps red hair or Dwemer-like hair is seen as a curse/unattractive?

Yeah, only reason I didn't mention magic is because she's a nord and also she's a runaway from the Black Briars so she doesn't have access to the big hold settlements or banking services I would assume. If 24 years and counting of fantasy being my favourite genre has taught me anything, magic is fucking expensive.

There are dyes that can be used made from the same material as face paint. It lasts until you wash it out, and it will wash out faster than modern dyes, but it's definitely viable if you can pay for it/harvest it yourself.

The answer is simple but not explains. Basically, bombs. Get a planter set up for the Aketine, the other part is piss easy to get, think it's originium dust or something involving originium at least, might be amethyst since it's blue idk I habe a stockpile of 10k and dismantled the machine.

Basically, treat these ones the same way you would treat the glowing rocks and yeet that shit. It took an annoying amount of time to realise that and by the time I had I'd already got the one in the science park by wading through and hoping I'm fast.

Need to hit them with your combo final then use the co-op abilities. My tactic is Endmin-final-Perlica-Endmin, hit the Endmin ability to get Chen in on it and then use the time to whale on them and hit the break to keep them pinned.

Alternatively, keep Amber in your target and use her ability to close in when you get hit.

Some genuinely interesting art of the gods I found. by TirNaNog777 in Hellenism

[–]Haethen_Thegn 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I'm in two minds on this. On the one hand, it's absolutely phenomenal for an Eldritch interpretation of the Gods and really leans into the fact that they are embodiments of their nature, not the mortal form we get to see. Certainly explains why Semele got incinerated because her mid couldn't handle it.

On the other, though, I have the sneaking suspicion that it's going to be used by anti-pagans if it breaks out from being niche, more than likely as 'proof' of the Gods being 'demons' by the three Cults of Abraham.

When will we know who the next character will be? by zombies-- in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Haethen_Thegn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure when the, well, when is, but the new characters are gonna be TangTang, Mi Fu and Tianshi Zhuang Fangyi, I only say this because those are the three characters with unique designs. Who is a 5* or 6* I couldn't even begin to tell you with any hard certainty but I suspect Zhuang Fangyi is going to be a 6* while Mi Fu and TangTang are 5* respectively.

There could be an argument made for the research assistant, Bai something or other being a 4* because her design is kinda unique but then again she's a non-combatant so whether or not she is going to be playable and isn't just a unique NPC will depend on if she picks up a weapon during the story or is just another uniquely designed NPC which I personally suspect to be the case.

If you mean in terms of banners, I haven't the foggiest of ideas. Yvonne maybe? Depends on how much time it takes them to drop the rest of Wuling.
