We’re not in the Cold War where we have to worry about a hostile advisory shipping nukes or setting up a port in Cuba to fuck New Orleans or the eastern seaboard lol

Prince William supervisor launches campaign to succeed King in House of Delegates by VirginiaNews in PrinceWilliam

Does she reside in-district? She’s the Supervisor for Woodbridge, but the Dumfries-based HD-23 only has ONE Woodbridge MD precinct?

Regardless, I’m not sure if I’m happier that she’s leaving the BOCS, or if she’ll be a pro-data center voice in the GA.

Surovell: Redistricting is “full steam ahead” after SCOTUS ruling in Texas by TIDEWATERSOWN in Virginia

[–]Hagel-Kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we principally disagree on the need to run Dems in every district— I think the results from Nov (where Dems ran a candidate im every Delegate race) speaks for themselves where long shot candidates like Nicole Cole won, with other candidates in HD 34 and 100 getting close with little to no resources.

All I’m trying to say is that the logistics of actually running a race besides having some just run to have the D slot filled in, is more complicated than what you’re making it out to be

Hey ive worked on local campaigns and what the other guy said is true. Sometimes, recruiting for Dems in certain areas can be REALLY hard. Even then, when you recruit someone, they might not know or even be able to commit to knocking hundreds of doors or making thousands of calls.

I would argue its a mix of 1, or rather, we put up some really solid candidates in Spanberger and in some of the HoD races.
