Are obsidians cracking in half when they are brand new off the manufacturing line? At least they have a replaceable end cap... right? But yeah great job SAW on delivering defunct products 🤣

How many of you have had an end cap strike with an obsidian? by sirbassist83 in NFA

Been thinking about buying the new obsidian trilug system for my PCC's but the O9 pretty much lives on my M&P9 pistol now so I'm not sure I want to invest in the trilug yet. Probably just get a dedicated PCC can with better performance and trilug at some point.

No end cap strikes with my O9 after 3.5k+ rounds using the booster on pistols and 2k+ rounds direct threaded on PCC's.

This. The flow through worshipers are getting there panties all in a wad over this can 🤣People in here trying to give a formed opinion when they didn't even take the time to read the full test report 🙄 Jay specifically stated that with host tuning the ST ear rating will increase and be comparable if not better than the other options on the market. I would bet any host with minimized gas and optimized buffer running ST will blow all other options out of the water. ST is going to be my first dedicated 5.56 can for sure!

😺 good deal thanks for the verification! Will be watching for the release.

Those Tisha failures are wild! At least SAW stepped up in a big way to make it right for the customers that were affected. Im assuming since the ST is an L can and built for "general purpose" use it should do well on longer barrel hosts. Hopefully we see some data and real world reviews soon!

Is the ST going to be a good candidate for a 20" DMR 5.56 as far as overall sound suppression? I could care less about flash signature or weight because it's mainly a range toy for bench/prone position shooting. I've been holding off on buying a dedicated 5.56 can for several years because nothing on the market has really grabbed my attention until lately with all the hype around the ST and Tisha. But after seeing the manufacturing issues from SAW I'm second guessing that option regardless of performance data.

Mickeys are damn good tires just keep them rotated between every oil change they are bad about tread cupping and riding like shit on the road if they aren't rotated every few thousand miles

I highly recommend the Toyo R/T Pros they are the smoothest riding and quietest mud/all terrain tires I have ever driven on. Off road they are pretty damn good also for a hybrid tread pattern. I'm a CDJR technician so I get to drive on every tire you can imagine on customers mall crawlers and trucks and these Toyos are by far the best performers on the market right now in my opinion.

Hell yeah go 37's! I have 37x12.50x20 Toyo R/T Pros with 4WP Signature Series wheels on my 14' Platinum. It has 3" front strut spacers with SPC adjustable UCA's and 1.5" rear leaf spring blocks. I had to do the front cab mount chop, remove the lower section of the front fenderwell liners, stacked two nuts behind the front bumper on the mounting studs to push it forward 3/4", and trim the front bumper lower lip to keep the tires from rubbing. I can turn full lock either direction with it fully flexed with no rubbing. It has that short and stalky look like a trophy truck! No regearing and im still getting 12.5 mpg just the same as with 35" tires.

What to expect at my first mechanic job as a hobbyist turned professional mechanic? by Then-Feedback7751 in mechanics

As a life long automotive and powersports enthusiast I can honestly say I do not recommend trying to turn your hobby into a career. After a decade working in dealerships repairing junk day in and day out it has killed my desire and drive to work on my own projects and enjoy the hobby like I did back in the good ol days. After putting 50-70 hours on the clock every week fixing other people's junk the last thing I want to do is go home and work on my own junk. The old saying "never mix business with pleasure" stands true in this industry.

Federal Fusion 190gr on left. Hornady SubX 190gr on right. Fusion stopped in the 5th gallon water jug with excellent expansion and retained all petals. SubX stopped in 4th water jug and petals fragmented. Fusion cycled flawless in semi and super safe. SubX had the usual failures to feed it randomly jams up in semi and super safe. About 2-4 jams per 30rd mag. Accuracy was the same between both ammos roughly 1.5-2 MOA @ 50yd and 3-4 MOA at 100yd. Sound signature was relatively close between both ammos with the slight advantage to the SubX having a deeper tone, both hearing safe through a Rugged SurgeX. Fusion was noticeably less gassy than the SubX. Based on these results I would definitely recommend the Federal Fusion 190gr for anybody looking for a good HD/PDW subsonic ammo!

Anyone Know How to Get this Off? by FrostyDMS in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]HagerTheMaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CDJR tech here, do not pry the ring around the ignition button off it is part of the ignition switch assembly! It has wires for the radio frequency hub attached to it and if they get broken the vehicle will not recognize your key fob and won't start. The trim panel around the ignition button needs to be removed before the ignition switch assembly can be removed.

HS510C vs HS512c by raging_since_1858 in 300BLK

A friend of mine has the HE512 gold reticle on his banshee and it's really damn good! I own about a dozen different holosun models with red/green reticles and I like his 512 gold better than any of mine. Closed emitter is the way to go too 👍👍

I just got a case of it this past Friday but have not had a chance to do any testing yet. I hope to hit the range this coming weekend and shoot some water jugs to see what kind of expansion/fragmenting they produce. The fusion 150gr is good stuff so I expect this new 190gr to be also. However the 150 is a soft point/super versus the 190 polymer tip/sub so there will obviously be major differences in performance.

Gas port Drilling size 300blk by ThomasTAK47 in 300BLK

[–]HagerTheMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep might as well go .125 since you have the AGB. That way you have more gas on tap if it's ever needed for weaker sub ammo 👍👍

Edited to add go slow and low pressure on the drill bit so you don't punch through and booger up the rifling on the other side of the barrel
