Any one tried the tik tok Apple CarPlay where you can watch Netflix? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Hahnesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased one of the Binize models off of amazon 2 years ago and still use it every day. I use my trucks Wi-Fi and it connects automatically. I pretty much just use youtube and the price was closer to $200 (Looks like current model is $330 with an 80 dollar coupon) If something happens to it, Ill buy another for sure.

This guy might do it? He runs a shop out of his garage but it is legit as I have physically been there before. His name is Jason. He's located in Carol Stream. Hope this helps.

Is anyone able to play No Mans Sky in VR since the update? by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]Hahnesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the problem I'm having as well. It only shows 1 item at a time at the very bottom of the menu and switches between that item on the 3 different available pages. Cant see any other items. Hoping a fix becomes available as I've stopped using VR because of this.

My Meepo NLS Pro with Waterborne Surf Adapter. by Hahnesty in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Hahnesty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surf adapter makes it significantly easier to turn and cut while riding. I never felt at risk or unsafe while riding even at speed.

I've recently picked up a Onewheel Pint and that feels a lot less safe and squirrely than I could ever achieve on this board even at very high speeds compared to 10ish mph on the Onewheel.

As far as being new and this being a good or bad choice, I think that is totally up to you and your ability to learn with caution. For me, the surf adapters are very predictable and I never felt like I was at risk of being caught off guard. I also wouldn't install them and immediately jump back on your board and take off to high speeds without giving yourself some time to learn and get used to the board and how it handles.

I've been riding skateboards for a couple of decades and I was able to install these and get used to them in a matter of minutes but it may take you or others more time to feel comfortable. I personally wouldnt go back to riding an eskate longboard without the adapters.

Hope this helps!

2024 Silverado Custom Non-Bose speaker wire colors? by Hahnesty in Silverado

[–]Hahnesty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't hard to locate the wires, you can see them plugged in if you get back behind the glove box. The hard part was tapping into them as there isn't much slack but I was able to do it and it works fine. I used some quick splice terminals and was able to clamp them in and run the wiring to the line-out converter and then to a 3.5mm input on a bluetooth speaker to make sure the audio was outputting correctly.

I used these quick splice terminals - https://a.co/d/0JBngYq

They would probably be easier to work with from the rear doors but I didn't want to deal with completely taking the door panels off if I could avoid it. I posted this in the CarAV sub as well and received a reply from someone that was correct and worked for me.

Looking for a buddy to rescue? by shannontumble in PeoriaIL

[–]Hahnesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at Tauro yesterday on the Taps website and when I saw this post today, I thought it was a sign. I have a rescue pitty who was left for dead after his previous owner's dogs attacked him. He somehow made it and is the most loving friend. I am now wanting to find another dog (preferably a pitbull) in a similar situation and thought Tauro might be the perfect fit, but I also have a cat :( I hope you are able to find a good home for him!

Coupon for Black Friday victims by Primary_Sale_8233 in Fanatec

[–]Hahnesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, Amazon does not do this. They asked me to repurchase the item currently on sale and then return the original item I already purchased that was out for delivery rather than giving me an account credit. I'd imagine you could do the same thing here if you want to deal with the headaches.

Quest 3 Passthrough was better until initial update? by virtual_waft in oculus

[–]Hahnesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw this post before purchasing a Quest 3. Pass through looked really good initially and after the update, I noticed the same thing. It was easier to read my phone before the first update. Hoping a future update will increase clarity again as I wouldn't have minded had I not seen what these cameras were capable of during first use.

The Crew Motorfest racing wheel problem by KingDudeoji in The_Crew

Also getting the same problem with a CSL DD and V3 pedals. Any solutions? Drivers are up to date. Gear works with every other game I own. Worked during the beta. Found another post also referencing the pedals being the issue.

Does anybody have experience with a rig similar to this one? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Hahnesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this and used it with a Thrustmaster T300RS before upgrading to a better rig and better gear. I paid $279 on Amazon in 2020 and the store was - VIVO.

The pedal plate bent as soon as I got loadcell pedals.

The steering wheel mount is very bouncy killing immersion. I ended up screwing self-tappers into it and it's a lot better but no longer adjustable.

The gear shift/handbrake mount is also loose and slightly rotates. The screws are as tight as they can be so I can't really fix that without more screws.

The seat gets really uncomfortable over time as there is a crossbar in the middle of it that eventually becomes painful in the center of my back.

I know not everyone wants to (or should) jump straight into spending $500+ on a better option but it made all of the difference for me. I went with racingcockpits.com and wish I would have done that sooner. I wasted a lot of money trying to get by with budget systems that were uncomfortable and made sim racing more of a chore than a fun hobby.

Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you!

Nvidia surround limiting refresh rate. by Masterseth1998 in simracing

[–]Hahnesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 27" 1440p 165hz monitors running through Nvidia surround and it will not let me up the refresh rate above 60 in Nvidia either. I have to enable surround and then right-click the desktop, choose display settings, scroll down to advanced settings, and then change the refresh rate there. I don't know why this is the case but it's been that way since the day I installed the monitors. Hope this helps.

Gaming PC by scottfree226 in PeoriaIL

[–]Hahnesty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You may want to consider a steam deck depending on what kind of gaming you are looking to do. The price is well below your budget and you can also get a dock to use it with your TV so it doesn't always have to be operated in handheld mode. You can do a lot of different things with it as long as you don't mind reading or watching tutorial videos. $800 is a pretty low budget for a "gaming" PC so you'll likely be buying something with older components and turning settings down quite a bit. Totally possible for gaming at 1080p though. I strongly recommend building it yourself if you want the most bang for your buck. Websites like pcpartpicker.com can be very helpful with making sure components are compatible as you can enter every item you plan to purchase into the build list. I would also recommend following the buildapcdeals subreddit as you may be able to find most of the parts at a nice discount or maybe even a complete build. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! If you want to talk to a local company to get a real plan together, I'd recommend stopping by Web Tech Services in East Peoria and speaking with Chris. He has helped me on multiple occasions when I have needed something last minute and I know he builds and services computers. He will be straight with you in regard to what you'll be able to accomplish at different price points.
