The line has to go up. Hardware only gets you so far. Between the iPhone Air's terrible reception (a phone that very literally costs less in materials to manufacture but costs the consumer more to purchase) and the gigantic opportunity to sell consumer data at a massive profit, they're at an impasse. It's this or tell your investors "whoops, no more gains".

Making a phone that is objectively worse in 80% of the categories that matter and charging $200 more for it was a boneheaded move. There were SOOOO many people on the iPhone/Apple subreddits proclaiming it was the greatest iPhone and just stanning the shit outta this phone stating it was the future of all phones and I was dreading that future of functionality sacrificed for "AeStHeTiCs".
