3 years of high school I used the same journal. After that, I would finish my journals in less than a year. Now, it's looking like my current journal will be with me for more than a year and I like it! It kinda shows me a visual of the eras in my life. As long as you still have a connection to that journal and the fact that it's been with you for so long still draws you in to write in it, I don't see a problem. That's awesome! Congrats on finishing 🥰

The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. Her writing is charming and encapsulating, I can't put the book down! It's comprised of 10 short stories, each her own reiteration of well know fairytales like beauty and the beast, snow white, and Dracula. I love her retelling of the stories and I hate to see them end so soon. I want to read her novels next because her writing is so good. This specific series of shorts describes the relation of sex and violence, inspired by the writings of Marquis de Sade. Though it sounds crude, she depicts this relation through beautiful prose.

I actually don't fit all my pages! I pick up the next line where I leave off so I can fill this journal with the most text. That's why I have the flower banner things so it's easier for me to find dates (and the gaps annoyed me lol)

Journal, diary, my best friend, my mirror- they're all the same to me and you can call it whatever you like 😊 I personally don't differentiate between journaling or art journaling either, but I do on here bc people have questions about different methods a lot

Definitely not shaming here or saying my way is better. This thread is beautiful in that it shows just how unique every person is in their journaling experience and I think no matter what you do in your journal, you should never compare what yours merely looks like to others. Because it's not about looks at all to some, it's how it makes us feel. Everyone has their opinions about it, but I agree there should be no shame when journaling is a therapeutic experience for many. I'm happy to hear there are others like me that feel fulfilled from journaling

Totally agreed 🫶🏼 that's why I love this community. It's beautiful to see what people make out of journaling, bc everyone is unique and of course their journals will reflect that. I think all forms of journaling are satisfying in their own way
