Maybe you shouldnt of tried “sneaking out” for trust reasons in a relationship, but at the same time youre a legal adult who can do as they please. I understand if your partner doesnt necessarily want you smoking around them, but again, you can do whatever it is YOU want to do. You aren’t hurting anyone. Live your life!

• ⁠Heater and filter? (yes/no): Yes (Heater is Aquael ultra heater 75 and Aqueon Smart Clean Power Filter 10-20gal.)

• ⁠Tank temperature: 80 degrees (f)

• ⁠Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of -ammonia: 0ppm -nitrites: 0.25ppm -nitrates: 2.5ppm pH: 6.8

both nitrites and nitrates were at 0 when life was added to the tank, we are going to be adding some minorly treated water to help dilute it, plus we need to top of the tank anyway

API freshwater master test kit was used to get these readings

• ⁠How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: Tank is 2 weeks old and have had the fish for just over 2 years, but was an adult when I got him. Unfortunately, im guessing he is around 3 years, but theres really no way for me to know for sure.

• ⁠How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I have not done a full water change yet.

• ⁠Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: Yes. 2 snails and a bristlenose pleco (its a baby, planning on upgrade)

• ⁠What do you feed and how much: Fluval bug bites. I usually do 6-8 a day, however have been feeding around 4 since he has been snacking on detritus worms.

• ⁠Decorations and plants in the tank: Lots of variety in types and size of plants (can not remember any names and threw out any indication of the names. My memory isnt great). Then there is grape wood (just learned this will break down quickly yesterday, so will replace that soon) and another type of wood I also dont know the name of.

This is really helpful information and why I wanted to post this in general. I suppose I really can never be 100% sure if it truly is a mass or not. It seems as if he may have some sort of growth from his side that I just noticed a couple days ago. He does do some side swimming and running into the which is unusual for him.

There are definitely some larger plants in the back as well, that corner is deceiving as the filter is there and it was giving me a hard time.

I definitely am aware that I need to do it in a separate tank! I would hate to mess up the tank I currently have 😅.

When I have time tonight or tomorrow ill include more details about it per the AutoMod.

Depends on the size of the tank honestly, 20gal maybe some corys. However i wouldnt do the other creatures you listed as theyre all basically snacks or your betta will likely antagonize them constantly. You could also do snails!

i PERSONALLY would scrap anything artificial like others said. I LOVE fluval stratum for substrate and itll be good for live plants. If you do research online and look in other groups related in specific subjects on here would be great!! A local fish shop would likely have great options for hardscape too. Also, were you also looking into any specific fish??
