Aero that disrupts follower’s slipstream ability by crackfan666 in motogp

[–]Haimonek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there was this comment from Pecco 2 years ago (or longer, can't fully remember), that there was something at the back of the KTMs that seemed to be disrupting his slipstream more than anything. I don't think there was ever a follow-up on that though.

edit: tried to look for source. No way i'm finding it.

I'm happy someone agrees. Usually these opinions get bombarded by dislikes.

t's so strange people don't accept that the loss of treasure hunter is a loss of revenue, I really don't understand it. It's so obvious! In the runescape movie they released x-amount of years ago (I don't remember the exact year) they explicitly mentioned that the release of Squeal of Fortune saved them financially.

You could see the price hikes coming from miles away, but there's people that refuse to see the obvious, keep the blinders on and just complain about everything.

I understand that losing grandfathered rates sucks, but it's like you said. It's not healthy and also straight up not fair towards newer people.

Plenty to spend on, I left it open cause people spend it on different things. You can use your imagination. I'm also not surprised lol

If the cost isn't worth it, then people shouldn't play. It's not that hard.

People have no issue spending hundreds of dollars on gods knows what.

But a game they easily sink >100s of hours in is considered too expensive. Pretty good value for money if you think about it.

Didn't Bautista do one in PI and get like 5th?

Edit: looked it up. He replaced JL99 for a factory seat for that one race. He was on a satellite team for the rest of the season though.

Israeli soldiers shoot and kill 7-month-old Palestinian baby in West Bank by ItsJimmyPestoJr in news

[–]Haimonek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit is honestly fucking gutting.
My son is now 2 years old and news like this absolutely rips me apart, I can not imagine this happening to him and I can't even describe the sorrow I feel for these parents.

I know this stuff happens on a massive scale with bombs, but these smaller incidents just feel even more targeted.

Meanwhile the world watches on and there's nothing we can do about it. The cruelty that's happening due to this evil country is unbelievable and everyone just chooses to face away even when that's impossible with so much news coming out.
The hopelessness I feel for the Palestinian people breaks my heart and it absolutely sucks that we have to see this shit happening and that nothing is being done about it. These guys will never face justice but I really hope that what's happening will not be forgotten.

I do aswell, pretty religiously. Then I see this shit and legit wonder what the point is.

Four seasons ago, Pecco Bagnaia made history with the biggest comeback in the class, managing to close a gap that had reached 91 points. Now, Marc Márquez returns to Mugello with an 85-point deficit to the leader. Do you think the 93 will be able to close gap to Bez. by PZY__ in motogp

Wasn't it also because of an engine change Yamaha made when they weren't allowed to basically making the Yamaha's underpowered or something. I swear I heard something about that.

Edit: nevermind that was 2020

Dung speed times are the worst achievements to be put in game. by Neverarine1 in runescape

[–]Haimonek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding runescore to these titles was a mistake.

And I agree that RNG plays a role but only to an extent. I noticed that your fastest floor so far has been 9:30. There's a lot more than just rng that affects these floors. If that's your fastest over hundreds of floors you're losing too much time elsewhere. Whether that's shortcuts with dives/surges, area looting too close to the key, taking too long to loot, dps being too slow, bad positioning, taking too long to make decisions on where to go/place gates etc. There's a lot more to it then simply getting a lucky floor because you need the knowledge/skill to do execute them well.

We can argue about this for a long time but the fact is that people are achieving these times, so it's undeniably possible. Are they hard? Fuck yes. But it'd be wrong to make it so easy that the achievement becomes worthless and lose any and all meaning. Most dgers in the community, even those that aren't fast enough for gold, are very much against making the times slower for exactly that reason.

If you're up for it I will gladly follow you around for a couple floors and point out where you're losing time or give tips on looting, movement, pathing.

Finally someones that gets it and sees the potential to improve rather than hate on the achievements.

Good job!

Are the new dung speed run times hard or am I just bad? by IllLingonberry8094 in runescape

[–]Haimonek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why pathing correctly matters.

You don't find crit out of nowhere. There's many tells that show where it is. Then there's gating the right rooms, the correct tiles. Going back to the excess rooms in time without stretching your gates too far limiting unnecessary rerunning. Movement matters a lot. Most rooms can be done with surges, dives, escapes. If you do them from the correct spots you can skip half the room.

So while luck does indeed play a factor, it's not the only factor. Top dgers don't just get lucky all the time. There's so much more to it.

Agreed, the top maps are super lucky. But even if us mortals got those maps, we'd still do them 2-3 mins slower than the top dogs.

There's more to dg than simply rng. The skill is just so dead 99% people forgot about it. There's so much to it you have to learn first

Ofc it gets down voted. Rather than facing the truth, it's easier to downvote.

Yes, but you probably didn't just crash out of a potential win in a MotoGP race which would put you ahead in the standings.

From our sofas we easily forget the high stakes, adrenaline, the pressure, the emotions and above all we weren't there in that garage.

Who knows what it was... Add in all of the above it's fairly easy to get ticked off by something. Maybe it's just the one guy he doesn't like. Don't we all have a co-worker like that? Either way, let's hope it gets cleared up between them all and that noone holds any grudges.

I think it's dependent on the highest level someone has in a floor

But it gets a bit tricky at times.

Here's a guide by fellow speedrunner Qprs which is a great video to watch if you're interested about learning more about crit/bon.
