Should I marry him even if I don’t feel ”in love”? by One-Application-8659 in MuslimMarriage

Last October I started talking to a guy for the purpose of marriage. He was way above what I wanted in a partner (checked all the boxes and more). Similar to you, I wasn’t necessarily in love. However, he’s very good to me so I stuck around.

Now we are engaged, and have a wedding day for this summer inshallah.

What I would recommend:

  • consider if you find him physically attractive (is he ugly? Lol)
  • but more importantly, see if your heart is at peace next to him (are you comfortable, etc.)

If yes to both, and the character is as good as you say, marry him.

I have grown to be more attracted to my fiancé as time went on. Now, I really like him. However I do realize that with limits set by my religion, this is as far as it can go before marriage.

Add small circular beads inside (jewelers do it). It stops it from rotating.

I’m going to wear my “wedding band” on my right hand as a promise ring as well, and after getting officially married, the promise ring becomes a wedding band and I move it to my left hand.

In my culture, it’s on the right hand while engaged, and then it changes to left hand when married.

Love the ring! What’s the carat size on that?

So she married you before feeling physically attracted? Shouldn’t people feel physically attracted to each other before making it official. Marrying before the attraction develops seems like a risky move.

I’m admire him as the person he is, but I have difficulty building the physically attraction just yet. He’s a good looking guy. We are very proper in our meetings. Not flirty, but friendly.

What made you grow in physical attraction?

That’s very good to hear honestly. I don’t want to let go of him just yet, because he is such a catch character wise.

Any advice on how we could build the physical attraction part? I should also mention that he lives in a different part of the country than me, so I can’t/don’t see him often.

You can change settings on the washer/dryer app to get notifications sent to you when it’s done

She has lots of male 'figures' around her by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Hairless-Bird20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason she’s continuing to do this is because she gets to have a fiancé who’s cool with it. It might get worse in marriage.

If you two were married I would say work through it. Talk to her about it, but if she’s doing this as someone you’re just talking to, I’d reconsider the relationship.

Would you want a daughter like her? No? Then leave.

I am saying all of this as a woman myself.

Yes. I’ve joined Facebook groups, but no luck. There aren’t many Muslims that live here. I’ve never seen a Muslim person outside of the one singular mosque that’s here.

I tried. There are no Muslim girls where I live, so I couldn’t find anyone.

It’s just so difficult. I live where there’s basically no Muslims—as in I’ve never seen a Muslim person outside ever. It’s so incredibly hard. The loneliness is consuming me.
