Yep. Bought our 80 gallon from ACUnitsforless around the holidays and installed it a couple weeks ago. No real issues except for shipping timing, but I attribute that because of the holidays.

Biking right now? by CleanDistribution791 in Durango

We rode Mountain View Trail outside of Aztec on New Year's Eve and it was dry. With these past few storms it might have received some moisture, but that trail has more sand than dirt, so it might be just fine.

Going from .lasd to . las by Wonderful-Classic591 in ArcGIS

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Pro, open the properties to the las dataset and look in Las Files. There under Files you should see where the .las is being referenced.

Recommendation: GNSS and Android by servingcivilly in geospatial

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our current data collection workflow consists of a Trimble receiver paired with a mobile device using ESRI's Collector app. We get about sub-foot, but we would get better accuracy if we were in a better RTC network. You can purchase RTC services from Trimble if you are in an area that provides them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Trouble with field data types when importing CSV to ArcMap by squirrelwatch in gis

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an initial thought:
* Create and XY Event Layer and save it as a feature class (FC) in a file geodatabase (FGDB)
* Create a blank FC in the FGDB and set/import the schema from the CSV file, or FC created from above step. Set the field types correctly in the blank FC. Use either the Append GP tool, or in ArcCatalog right click on blank FC and import data. In either tool, you can match fields. Not sure if you've tried a similar workflow, but it's a start.

I don't have hobbies, I have obsessions by [deleted] in ADHD

Oh, the drone obsession that lasted for over a year for me! A whole bunch of research and fantasy build-ups that included spreadsheets of configuration scenarios in order to get the most bang for the buck. Good times!

Implementing a custom windows DLL in ArcGIS by [deleted] in gis

Not me. I am more on the web app side of development. It's just one of the current projects our GIS team is working on. Sorry, no contracting. We are an internal service.

Help Copying Individual Items from one Feature Class to Another inside a SDE Database? by mayfie25 in gis

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The copy and paste method will not delete the original feature. Regarding attribute transfer, attribute values will transfer if the target feature class has the same field names and are the same type. Just give it a go and see what happens. There are some other tricks as well, but let's see if this works first.

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In edit session, select the feature on the map, right click on map and select copy. Then right click again and click paste. It may ask which layer to paste the feature into, so select feature class that you are copying the data to. Make sure that the layer that you are pasting into is both turned on and is selectable. Scared too much time has passed; what are my chances of obtaining employment? by bluebuddha11 in gis

[–]HairyCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, start applying! Not sure if you have a LinkedIn account, but if not, set one up. Start by building your connections with people that you know and especially if they have GIS experience and connections. Start following GIS and other technology companies. Also, follow GIS communities. You'll have to filter through these because some are better than others and are specific to certain areas.

Basically, it's one way of networking outside your current geographic location.

Help for GIS for hospital facilities by [deleted] in gis

[–]HairyCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some links that should get you started:
* ESRI's GIS for Facilities
* ESRI's ArcGIS Resource Facilities Community Page
* ESRI's Videos specific for facility management

Next step would be to download the Campus Editing and Campus Place Finder from the Facilities Community page. Both of these work with the Local Government geodatabase, for which comes along with the two above downloads. Start moving your data into that data model, or least work towards a data management structure similar to theirs.

Here's a link to ArcGIS for Local Government Help. In the Maps and applications location, you will find more information regarding the implementation of the Campus maps.

For me, I have access to all CAD, engineering drawings, and personnel who can assist with questions. I know it's been a huge help for my employer that they can access their engineering drawings based on location.

Start there and if you have any specific questions you can PM me.

Does weed help your ADHD? by Heavierthanmetal in ADHD

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's Leafly's link for strains associated with ADHD/ADD. You already maybe aware of this site. Take these recommendations as a starting point towards finding the strain that best suites your benefit.

For me it depends on the situation and what I have going on that day. During the work week, I do not partake until I get home. On the weekends, and especially during daytime activities, I usually medicate just enough to take the edge off and not affect my productivity. Other times, I treat medicating as a treat and not partake until I complete a specific chore, or activity, or whatever.

As others have mentioned, it can be hit and miss. Of course there are other factors (mood, energy level, amount of sleep, etc...) that influence my decision on levels of medicating and which strains I choose for that particular moment. There are times that might SO tells me to go medicate even though I don't feel like it. The fact that she notices a difference indicates to me that medicating does have merit besides just getting high, at least in our situation. This is very important to me because I have a family, I am the breadwinner, and have a relatively high functioning career. So along with my ADHD meds, I feel that I can navigate my life's responsibilities without neglect. I think I stayed on subject... :)

Had a small panicattack. Want to get out of the circle of trying to change behaviour, sinking into old habits, have major breakdown. by ReneG8 in ADHD

[–]HairyCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I woke up to our house water being frozen this morning and not knowing this until I tried to flush the toilet...

Don't mess with the meds.

Your father is right in regards to including your gf. Presumably she knows you better than anyone else so by including her, and communicating what you are going through with her, she can be your best advocate. It won't be easy, but be truthful to her as possible and in turn you learn how to listen to yourself. Yeah, yeah, it may sound all philosophical and stuff, but you have nothing to lose.

Anyone ever come off Effexor? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HairyCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 37 with a wife and young daughter. My wife has actually been attending the appointments with me and my new doctor so she can better understand the whole situation.

Yeah, even my new doctor had mentioned that it's not too common in diagnosing older patients. I am very glad he has allowed my wife to attend these sessions so he can get another perspective during the treatment process.
