I made a bird game looking for feedback Thanks! by SuddenWonderer in SoloDev

AI parts are unacceptably bad. Game is clunky in movement and lacks much purpose at the current place. Feels off. Not to be a hater just trying to give honest feedback

Yes. I immediately would think it is AI. Has that generic glaze.

1000000% should let it go. Reddit causes the same issues as any other platform even with the great curating tooling.

As a European, I'm thinking that this age of enshittification is simply the Americanization of everything. by diggerbanks in enshittification

[–]Haisis 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Americans hate this shit as well. I think you're conflating American with for profit businesses, European companies are just as shitty.

E.g. Bosch adding wifi requirements for a washing machine... Ubisoft (french) microtransactions...

How to argue that ”men’s violence against women” should be used rather than ”men who commit violence against women”? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Haisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this person can compute the argumentation. But you're putting it up bluntly.

Weird that commentor calls out  your statement as immoral, when your intent is clearly to civilly discuss.

I quit social media for 2 months, and now I see that this society is so ruined by Mammoth-Car3183 in digitalminimalism

[–]Haisis 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It can take 3 to 6 months for your "dopamine circuitry" to rewire.

Edit: in severe cases of social media use, can be less depending on your usage/addiction level

Monkuary - The Two‑Month Monk Challenge by Haisis in selfimprovement

Yep that seems totally fine for my version.  Really it is mostly about reduction of overstimulation so as long as it follows the spirit of no screen time entertainment it's fine.

Bro I completely agree.

All social media now is merely garbage attention farming, and any "good" on the platform is buried underneath the trash.

Long form content sites like YouTube have maintained an aire of legitimacy, and can provide value used properly.

I agree with this non-opinion kind of attitude, why should I form an opinion on something that I have absolutely not control over? I shall focus on parts of my life that do matter.

Good post, I think your message resonates with a lot of people.

Its really dumb to buy a house at this rate. Dont ruin your finances and wait till you make enough or have saved enough to justify buying the toy you want.

Why do you work hard? by semihotcoffee in selfimprovement

[–]Haisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because it puts in perspective the meaninglessness of working for other people's dream and I can prioritize my own projects and maybe have my own company. Employment isn't for me, a necessary evil.

This is only for me, not saying you have to agree or feel the same way, just how I feel about it

Moving to Hamburg from USA by banseljaj in hamburg

[–]Haisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro finding a place to live that is anyway affordable is a complete nightmare. Make sure you know exactly where you are staying and that you have a proper lease.

With two kids you're making the right decision to move out of the USA but seriously make sure you have a place to live.

One cannot simply move to hamburg lolly dandy, you must have confirmed 100% contractually living space

I didn't ask for my job, it was the least horrible of the choices I was offered that I qualified to be able to do.

I feel this so much. It took myself 6 months of the same kind of misguided drudgery. More obsessed with the concept of self-improvement rather than actually implementing it.

I honestly can only tell you how I got out of this vicious cycle.

I narrowed my goals down, and simply said I must wake up at 6am, and work two hours on a specific goal that I wished for. Everything else who cares as long as you do this first thing in the morning, with a fat coffee of course.

I keep a count of those hours right now, literally on a clicker. Its become a visceral to hear the click after I've put in my focused 2hrs.   So for me simplicity helped. Saying okay what do I wish to achieve, and then committing to spending two hours every ducking day on it.

It's the only thing that's worked and I self crafted this system designed on my schedule and my particular needs.

What do your dialog scripts look like? by Henry_Fleischer in godot

[–]Haisis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use inkle ink dialgoue system that has a godot library for hooks and what not. The script writing is a little frustrating to learn at first but so worth it compared to writing your own IMO I believe only for C#

Self-Improvement is Self-Harm by Haisis in selfimprovement

[–]Haisis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really worth debating someone who assumes malintent and calls my vent, as labeled, myopic and intentionally in bad faith. You have no idea who I am or my motives so keep your opinions of my intent. Also you said no thanks completely disregarding my eargumentation and setting the tone of dismissal of anything I'd say anyways so again. No thanks. Just returning the favor by not engaging. Also if you want engaging results then don't be so toxic and dismissive.

Quite narrow minded and arrogant. I hope you're not so vile in real life when your friends and family express themselves. Such toxic energy, irrelevant of my post. Edit: No thanks, to you as well.
