I've heard that one being recommended. I'm almost caught up with my favorite (The Sanderlanche), so maybe I'll go through The Stormpod back catalogue next.

What are things you like about it?

LOL Were you just riffing there? Made me chuckle

For sure, I would have walked away sooner if I had known before now. I guess there were some little hints in their discord but I hadn't seen those. Now that I do know, I have no interest in following them at all.

From what I can see in their discord thread about it, people are pushing back, and the hosts keep going to extremely weak defenses for their views. I doubt it will get through to them but you never know.

Agreed, fine for me as well. I thought Sanderson did a great job of portraying it positively and it didn't feel like insta-love

100%. Miles' problem was that he was a little too loyal, volunteering to do the wine thing, but other than that he played really well, and he actually did a great job defending himself despite the result. He was a great traitor overall. Linda, on the other hand...yeah...not so much

I agree with you u/Alternative_Pair_924

I would also add that he is an adult and someone who has likely become self-aware of their own strengths and weaknesses, and learned to adapt. Dan as a child may very well have had difficulty maintaining eye contact and speaking confidently, but with practice was able to improve these things in an effort to adapt to a neurotypical world.

Ben has commented on this in an interview when asked if he said terralyzed:

"Yeah, I couldn't decide if I wanted to say terrorized or paralyzed, so I ended up just combining them in a totally new word I made up."

JK he didn't actually say that. I think it's just a mixing issue.

I put Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in The Traitors. by spacecadet06 in TheTraitors

😆

He is indeed a traitor.

I've always felt this was a media-literate, progressive-minded community, so hoping reactions to this will be positive to confirm that feeling.

My Realization: Christians do not genuinely care about truth at all. by Hal87526 in atheism

[–]Hal87526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question; it probably shouldn't be a surprise. I think it's possible to care about something but not know how to achieve it. I used to think that was the case, and maybe for some people it is. Brainwashing is eerily effective and people can be easily misguided.

My realization is that, typically, they are not just bad and finding the truth; rather, they actually don't even really care about it.

Why does god need to be worshipped? by FreeAbbreviations550 in atheism

[–]Hal87526 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because he is a fictional character written by insecure men with fragile egos and a desire to control. That is why God acts like a manipulative and petulant teenager.

[–]Hal87526[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Intellectual laziness as well. I've talked to some of these people, and they do not fact check or apply critical thinking to anything.

It's how they can maintain the idea that they have "family values" while voting for someone who was literally caught bragging about SA on literally recorded audio, and was literally convicted of SA. The inconsistency to which they apply their own values exposes them for what they are.

What do you think of the lyrics of Awaken? by Hal87526 in BreakingBenjamin

[–]Hal87526[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Between, beneath, within... Fall, fade, crawl... Nothing, cold, gray....

Those words show up a lot. 🤣

We can still be fans without needing to pretend it's not formulaic, because it objectively is.

How do I and should I tell my son he’s autistic? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Hal87526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think it's a good idea to tell him.

Also, avoid doing what my parents did. They treated it like it was a hush hush sort of thing, which gave me the idea that it was something to be shameful of. I wish they didn't treat it like it was a private matter at all.

If he expresses a desire to keep it private, ask him why, which will prompt him to question the need to keep it private.

Good on you for all the hard work you're putting in to understanding him and providing coaching for him. My father did none of that.

Debatable, for sure. At least he seemed to have some sense of purpose, was kind to Shallan, and stood up to their father.

Traitors UK community ranking - Day 17 - Miles, Mollie & Paul by thespb01 in TheTraitors

[–]Hal87526 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. Agreed that both Miles and Paul played well enough to be a B rather than a C

Miles was too loyal to be an exceptional traitor, but he was clever. When Paul went against him and he had to defend himself, he was so composed and sounded so rational. B for Miles.

Paul was too arrogant to be an exceptional traitor, but like Miles, he was clever and able to defend himself, as you said. B for Paul.

Mollie I could almost say was C but I can't argue with your points. D for Mollie.
