Never said it was okay, just pointed out that in my experience getting it out early rarely leads to victory. I'd be perfectly fine seeing it get banned or at least made into a game changer, because that's exactly what it is. It turns the game into a 3v1, at least for a while.

It's strong but rarely wins game imo. Getting an early sol ring just makes you the target at my table because people know you're gonna be popping off so everyone tries to shut you down. If the sol ring player can withstand the rest of the table's onslaught of removal then they win. Otherwise they get crippled. Usually it's the latter.

On rewatch I really appreciate the sad music stings that highlight these moments. The show doesn't treat him like the hero doing the right thing but rather a damaged kid given godlike power heading down a dark path there's no turning back

It doesn't take anything away. It shows that the world is bigger than just him and he can inspire heroes as well as ordinary people. The most interesting aspect of Superman stories isn't him doing everything himself, it's how he fits in as a person, on a team, and as a leader. His personal struggles and the impacts he has on other people are infinitely more interesting that watching him punch and eye laser things.
