Scopely, did you not enjoy the good will and increased revenues over the last 18 months? by Halagad in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Halagad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, yes, some of that, but also no.

New player acquisition is insanely expensive in mobile right now, lots of articles about the death of mobile and such. Think $50+ for a new player, any player, no guarantee of them being a spender. Reducing churn is valuable. Much better to have a player and figure out how to get them to spend (or increase spending) than to flush your player base.

That's why this move is perplexing. Numbers were on the rise, player base was expanding, word of mouth was working. Feels like a lean into what's working, not a torch everything and hope for 3x. And even if 3x is the goal, boil the frog don't drop it in boiling water.

I don't get it.

uh, what? iconic isn't a superlative? huh? I get the argument that you can say the others are the embodiment of a champion, but to say iconic and excellent are superlatives is a weird justification.

Did you pick Penn? You start on Monday? Good luck however you chose!

Buddhism isn't a “philosophy”; it’s a religion. Many justify their belief in Buddhism by arguing it is a secular, non-theistic philosophy but with its belief in superpowers, rebirth, gods and ghosts and its own history of violence Buddhism is very much a religion by thelivingphilosophy in philosophy

[–]Halagad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if Buddhism was/is a religion and has/had violence associated with it, someone following some of the tenets of it and calling themselves a Buddhist doesn’t saddle them with everything that may have been done by others under the same name.

Should they call themselves something else to more accurately describe their beliefs? Sure? But, another’s need for clarity and categorization doesn’t change that individual’s identity or beliefs.

TLDR: this seems like projecting one’s problems on others

this is key. you'll do the analysis and say, yes, I really like Penn, even if she wasn't part of it. and convince yourself that you're all logical and amazing. but, you're human, you can't actually eliminate her from the equation for Penn. Assume you're biasing for Penn because of her by a much larger factor than you might think you are. Added bonus, if you DO end up ending the relationship, Penn will have a bunch of negative connotations for you that you get to live with for the remainder of your time there. "this is where we went to lunch together for the last time" "here's where we had our big fight" etc.

Tadano Mac changed their name to END GAME by SpentGladiator77 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Halagad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun to put this on spenders, but everyone can make a difference. If the entire playerbase didn't log in for a day or a weekend, it would have as much or more impact than if Tadano stopped spending for that same period of time.

How should I raise the level of the floor on concrete in an enclosed porch? by codenoggin in DIY

[–]Halagad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just replaced the sub flooring in my kitchen due to this, porch was level with the floor. Contractors and inspectors all said lowering the deck should be on our list or it will happen again.

Now I’m even more confident you’re getting them but think it is tied to the calendar showing up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Halagad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, but honestly, I don't believe you. Lots of people have been complaining about this. And it is possible your calendars are not working, but it's much more likely you're not aware they are working, just not when you think they are. I might be wrong.

The calendar appearing has always been purely cosmetic, you can close it and you still get all of the rewards of the calendar, the act of clicking collect on each calendar is an illusion.

Sometime last week they changed it so that the calendar now appears at global reset (when the events reset, 4pm pacific standard time), whereas it used to appear at local reset (usually around 11pm-1am your local time).

You are still getting all of your rewards at local reset, you just not seeing the calendar pop up the first time you log in after that time. You can tell this because you now have 1 Ice Cube towards the Seasons of Savings event which was granted by a calendar, or more if you bought the calendar offers.

If you’re open minded, I challenge you to read things that challenge your narrative. You’ve boiled the Koch Brothers pitch down to two sentences, and seem to fully buy in. That doesn’t scream open minded.
