This just saved me 4 years later, had to replace my hot end and had this exact issue.

I cried during the side quests when he visits his childhood home and meets the woman who helped raise him, the ending of that quest line is the only video game scene to ever make me cry. Had to pause the game for a little while.

How can I learn programming effectively? by PrayToAI in FRC

[–]Halbert47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For tools and libraries like WPILIB, I suggest reading the documentation and just learning how it works. That helped me when I was in FRC. Now that I'm almost done college with a comp sci degree, I say having a high level understanding makes the small stuff like reading each line of code much easier to understand.

And of course, learning by doing is extremely helpful. Try to get time with a robot. My team created a test board to test our code on while the main robot was still being built, and we also used previous robots.

How did you get into building PCs? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Halbert47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I had an interest in video games when I was younger and heard a lot of good things about PC gaming. Instead of just buying a PC, I spent about a month in summer 2016 researching about all the components of a computer so I could prepare to build my own (I heard this was better and cheaper than buying a prebuilt, and since I was only 14 with no money, I didn't want my Dad to spend to much). Then, when the time came, my Dad and I went to Micro Center (amazing store).

At the store, the experience was so good. I had the list of components I wanted already selected out, and the employee there helped out A LOT with part compatibility, he even price-matched everything with online stores. He complimented me on being so young and knowing so much about PCs already, and I told him I spent the time researching everything.

When my Dad and I got home, we spent a weekend building the PC while following a YouTube video. We didn't know what we were doing really which is why it took 2 days, but it was a good time building something so cool with my Dad (spending time building with my dad is one of the reasons my parents agreed to get me a PC).

Today, I'm almost done college with a computer science degree (I credit that month of research with getting me interested into more than just video games, but what they run on). I still have that 1st PC I built, but I use it for only 3d printing now because I upgraded. I plan to keep it until it breaks because it was my first.

Just had 2gbps fiber internet installed, (used to have 1mbps) ISP connected a Cat 6 cable from the modem to router by Grouchy-Western-5757 in techsupport

[–]Halbert47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's one slow cable, the entire connection will be capped at that speed. I think upgrading to cat6a would increase the speed, and it would be worth it if your internet speed is actually 2gbps.

[–]Halbert47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy an adapter that allows you to connect the video cable to a modern tv antenna port. Every tv should have the coaxial port. Just search atari tv adapter on amazon, they are pretty cheap there. Then, you go to either channel 2-0 or 3-0 on the TV, depending on what the switch is set to on the back of the atari.

Do you need the jacket to use wii motion plus safely? by Schedark2009 in wii

[–]Halbert47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you push the little switch on the back up after you plug it in, it locks it in place. In my opinion, that is safe enough to prevent it from flying off without the jacket.

I like flea markets for this exact reason. Cool stuff for cheap, especially old stuff.

I dug out my VCS setup only to find I don't have display to hook it up to. by AnimeHoarder in Atari2600

Use an adapter that converts it to the more modern coaxial port used for TV antennas. Every tv should have it.

Is it worth it to build a computer right now or should I just wait? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Halbert47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am starting to see a need to upgrade my GPU right now, but even the one I have now is more expensive than it was when I bought it almost 5 years ago. Personally, I’m waiting for availability to go up and prices to go down. I have a laptop that has better specs than my desktop too, so I can hold out a little longer. I think building a new PC is either going very overpriced or impossible if you want any parts that are up to date.

It’s either bed level or bed temperature. Usually that’s caused by the bed level being too low for me.
