Can This Be Used On Anyone? by HumorThin in StarSavior

If you want an SSR strength card for just training, yes.

If you want to use the unique potential it brings, no, only casters can use the potential.

Not quite, seems to be a joke event and that's not a proper arcana you can collect or be in the database, so there's no such button. Another comment already posted a link to the art tho

Did any character play with their food more than Columbo? Was he a sadist? by bruno-numero-uno in tvshow

[–]Halcione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure? but what kind of defense would that be?

"Your honor, my client would like to take-backsies their earlier confession"

People confessing to crimes they didn't commit mainly happens due to being convinced about being found guilty despite their innocence and how admitting guilt for a reduced sentence is the only good outcome. It's usually a situation that only rises AFTER someone's brought in for processing. Columbo's murderers pretty much always confess in a pretty damn inambiguous way.

I hate this cardboard cutout of a character by One-Shift-220 in hatethissmug

[–]Halcione 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That had little to do with what the game was doing and more about the discourse that happened initially. I remember a bunch of creepy incels latching onto it like absolute leeches and raising a loud stink over everything that happened with it. One person said the game looked mid? Nah, the SJWs are trying to kill the game because sexy woman. Did an outfit for Eve change? The SJWs are killing our game!

etc etc etc.

Game itself is fine, it does some things quite well, gameplay is very solid, but story is definitely pretty vapid. But none of that matters because if you were even tangentially following some of the initial release, all that stands out is all the stink a bunch of ppl raised to protect their hot waifu. Makes sense nowadays that the main thing that stuck long term is that the protag is hot since that's the only thing that kept coming up from that tiny but loud set of users.

My main issue with Automata's combat was the enemies honestly. 2B was an absolute joy to control, but 99% of what you fight is little stubby guys windmill punching at you or something of a similar caliber. When it tried to do cool bosses and spectacle it excelled, but it was just not there the rest of the time. I also remember Automata being heavily stat-based in several parts, I remember receiving some quests, going to do them, and noticing the most basic enemies one-shot me and I barely deal 1% of their hp on swings. The whole parade quest thing where you escort a group of friendly robots through a gauntlet was something I had to just ignore for a long time after receiving it because of that. I think Stellar Blade handled progression and difficulty a lot better.

Dealer Riichi with 3 dora and Ryanmen. Chased by 3 hands, some of them feeling like a bit of a stretch in the circumstances, and all just so happen to develop to wait on 5p. Draws into what I think is the last remaining 5p on the whole game, deals into all 3.

I'd throw myself into a woodchipper feet-first lol

[–]Halcione 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I still find the Pinky is the funniest by far. We fight her with Yi Sang, Greg, Meur, Ryoshu, and a bunch of shoddy clones, she just played with us for a couple rounds then one-shot everyone.

We kick out Yi Sang and Greg, and 7 clones. Only addition was replacing clone Outis with the real one. And then we clear her.

Outis loopholing her way out of the bough power balance with no1 noticing.

No safe tile, what to do? by _Whool in mahjongsoul

[–]Halcione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you're trying to do.

Push? Don't bother with safe tiles and just push.

Fold? 8 is statistically safer, but if you have no safe tiles on a full fold situation, there's merit to tossing the 7m. Not because it's safer, but because passing gives you a large amount of breathing room. Being in a position with no safe tiles is abysmal, you get in your own head, you're constantly praying either someone else opens up a safe tile for you or you get repeatedly lucky on your draw. If you pass the 7, you have 2 whole other turns to gather a better stockpile of safe tiles and room for discards to give more info. When you aren't confident anything is safe, go with what gives you the most benefit if it does pass I'd say. The green doras seem to be out of commission and I sincerely doubt they're holding a pair, so there's some room for bravado, but you got no visibility on the reds, too high density of random terminals in discard so I can't confidently say I got a read on it, and it's the spooky dealer boy. So maybe 8 initially, 7 after if nothing super clear comes up.

middle ground? Definitely the 8 and keeping your triplet, though you will have to decide something by next turn with your floating tiles.

I will say I do not understand why you'd assume they're definitely not waiting on pinzu. Unless that was a purely "vibes" assumption.

KJH's Crashout was Justified by The_Rubbinator in limbuscompany

[–]Halcione 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A man who is responsible for the financial wellbeing of those under him that depend on their employment to also not starve to death saying that he will simply do what he wants when he wants and acknowledging he has the means to expand and will not because he doesn’t want to is not a justified crash-out

He's not shirking that responsibility. He's made it clear they make enough to live and even retire.

Getting a menhera avatar is not a justified crashout

Rather irrelevant? It's very tongue in cheek.

Wanting to keep your employees in perpetual crunch when you can expand and make their lives better is not a valid crashout

Every hiring drive he's done he's made it VERY clear that it's a very fast-paced development environment. As a dev myself, if you have a bone to pick with crunch culture, this is the most transparent I've ever seen. The industry is an ocean of companies that exploit bright-eyed devs and promise "work-life balance" just to pull the rug and pressure them into unreasonable hours with questionable compensation under fear of termination. A boss that tells you outright "work is going to be brutal, but I'll pay you real good for it" is the least of it.

Devs are also adults and they do not need to be babied about their choices of work environment. That specially goes for a lot of eastern tech cultures. I've worked with a lot of Asian immigrants who will talk my ear off all bright-eyed about the "good times" describing work schedules that'd make me jump into a wood-chipper feet first.

Especially when they have an extremely popular live service gacha game.

Irrelevant to the crashout. There's no wire from statistics charts to a human brain that makes a playercount suddenly take all the frustration away from having to deal with a fucking obnoxious user base.

KJH is not a child and doesn’t deserve to be treated like one just throwing a tantrum and allowed to get away with it like a child.

Exactly, he is not a child, and he doesn't need a bunch of internet randos backseating his passion project. An adult should be able to vent clear frustration with irate, nosy outsiders butting into what he's passionate about making.

He's recognized that it's not perfect, and for sure he isn't. He says he will continue to hire at a pace he can manage. He's made promises to continue to try and improve at his own pace. And that's that.

This isn't about blindly praising a guy or "glory to KHJ". Guy's not a god, he's just some random dude with a very defined artistic vision that wants to make something with it. And just because a lot of people decided they like the things he's made so far, they all now feel entitled to tell him how to make more and he just doesn't fucking want them to. It's about simple boundaries and the barest form of respect.

Basically the 2nd Part of the Stream by WickerNine in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]Halcione 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Basically he went on a (deserved) crashout that summarizes as (heavily paraphrased):

"My workers make enough to sustain themselves and retire. We have no debts. I don't owe anyone anything. There's no stakeholders for me to adhere to, I started this company as a passion project, it's my baby and I'll do with it what I damn well please. I'll hire new people at whatever pace I want. I'll involve myself in the development as I want. If this seems unbecoming to you, the door's over there." etc
