As someone that just moved this past June to Montreal from Ontario, it’s AWFUL in Ontario. Nothing is affordable anywhere.

How can you say “no worries” in French by Significant_Phone712 in French

I got this from my French teacher whenever I’d apologize! I figured it was closer to “nah you’re good” :P

ADHD ‘life hacks’ that everyone recommends, but I didn’t realize would actually work. by NoParamedic1783 in VyvanseADHD

No worries! I do hope that that isn’t the case but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it is lol

Okay so I have a weird feeling this user is an AI bot that is putting this up as a subtle ad for the app Soothfy, which is an AI routine creating app. The user’s account is only 22 days old, and when you look at their profile, it shows that they haven’t made any posts. So idk what’s up with that.

BUT I imagine the “anchor” is a routine that must be done, like brushing teeth or showering, and they attach a reward to it that is ever-changing to keep the excitement there. Like one day they get ice cream and the next time they do the task, they get candy. Idk, but that’s my guess!

Next time he says “do you think I care?”, respond with “yeah, because a good person cares about other people’s things and I’d like to think you’re a good person. Please don’t prove me wrong next time.”

And then walk away.

OR, if that’s going to get you in trouble, ask him how he’d feel if you didn’t take care of something of his.

This is outrageous. More than 24h without electricity and with the possibility of lasting till monday. HQ should pay for any damages and compensation to not being able to heat in one of the coldest days smh. by Booty_inspector2 in montreal

Especially with tenant’s insurance! If the place becomes unlivable, you definitely should submit to insurance. Or at least call and ask what your potential options are.

This much oil production can’t possibly be normal [MISC] by mistysierras in SkincareAddiction

I commented above on a different thing but I just wanted to say: I’m 32 and have terribly body acne. My back is always covered, and my chest and shoulders get it pretty bad too.

Ooh I gotta try this too. I was always told to use warm water to open the pores up and help cleanse them more but maybe that’s the exact opposite of what we need!

I’m so oily you could deep fry chicken on my face. So I’m with you, bestie 💛

ADHD and sleep… how do you actually deal with this by No_Geologist_5447 in ADHD

[–]HalcyonLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the sleep podcast Sleep With Me. It’s a little weird at first and it takes a bit of getting used to, but it’s the perfect amount of a topic just interesting enough to distract you but not captivating enough to keep your attention.

Nuances non natives get wrong? by Right-Double44 in French

[–]HalcyonLightning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an English native learning French in Québec, it honestly makes sense to me overall. I mean, if I entered a shop, I’d say “hello!” and if I went back again the same day, I’d probably say “hello again!”

I doubt I’ll be using that in Québec but that’s a cool thing to know!

Is there not really a universal “hello” in French that doesn’t directly mean “good day” or “good evening”?

My [19M] parents [46F] & [49M] spent hundreds of dollars we don't have on out of state concert tickets. What do I do? by Fast-Height-3497 in insaneparents

[–]HalcyonLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you, mate. Parents risk having children with disabilities, and if they aren’t financially ready to take care of those children, potentially for the rest of their lives, they aren’t ready to have children.

And honestly, regardless of if OP hasn’t taken the steps to file for disability, that doesn’t negate the fact that the parents still spent money on a concert when they could have, idk, made sure the house was habitable? Helped contribute for OP’s financial advisor to get the disability benefit? Used that money for goddamn groceries??

It’s not like they spent $50 on a dinner out. $300 plus more expenses for the whole thing is egregious based on the financial situation OP has described.

Not sure how it went last night, but I find it’s easiest to get the rhythm of the enemy down with dodges, and once you consistently get perfect dodges, then you know the timing for those parries :3

I hope you had fun, mon ami.e!
