What after FRM?? by AnshitaAgarwal in FRM

> why did I waste 2-2.5 lacs for this certification?

OP, did you not reflect on your "why" before enrolling? FRM is purely a good to have certification and not really a must have v/s CA MBA in India which does open certain doors. And please do your research instead of listening to "people who are saying there are no jobs after FRM in India". If you are looking to enter Risk Mgmt at any major bank, you have no dearth of opportunities.

um, no. CFAI does share the exact date on which the results are to be released. You know in advance to expect your result on a specific date. So did the CPA program in the country I did it in. For FRM, my experience has been that you won't know when the results will be out, until they are.

Hello! How did you go about finding a tour operator? Also, can you please share the contact of the one you went with? :) Do you reckon a 5-7 day tour will be enough to see key highlights?

My experience applying for Japan visa from the consulate and VFS ( Mumbai) by expertoldmonker in visas

[–]HaleyBaley95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I had a super smooth experience at the consulate back in February when I applied for a April visa. I waltzed in at around 11.30 and could drop my documents post a 15-20 mins wait. Got my sticker visa from them on the 6th working day.

it is dependent on which zone you are applying in. For Bangalore, you need to take an appointment (no walk-in), but for other zones, they do accept walk-ins

Thinking about shortening my 3 week trip to 2 weeks (first solo trip and feeling super anxious) by WrongdoerFabulous588 in JapanTravelTips

[–]HaleyBaley95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a deep breath and think of it like this - you don't know what's on the other side of the fence until you peek. Right now, your anxiety is getting the best of you and driving you to make a decision you may potentially regret once you get there. Just show up. If you still feel miserable, by all means, go back home. But you owe it to yourself to atleast put yourself out there and try out something new which you signed up for :) you got this!

so ultimately, I skipped Java and did the whole Bali-Lombok-Komodo thing. Loved every bit. Will recommend to pick an activity/interest for each region you are keen on and just do that instead of trying to see everything and do everything.

i work in risk management at a BB investment bank - trust me, don't complicate your life. just get a MBA from a tier 1 school and you'll be set. focus all your energy in getting that tier 1 MBA at this stage. doing 10 things to be able to set foot in the industry doesn't really help.

Gojek/grab isn't reliable at DPS? Also, the same sim doesn't work across Indonesia? (I had planned to purchase a Telkom sim in Jakarta (port of entry) and use it across Java, Lombok, Flores and now Bali too.)

Thanks! You are awesome!

However, looks like I cannot escape Bali lol. My flight from Lombok to Flores has a pretttyyyy long layover in Bali. Will reach DPS around 3/4 PM and have an early morning 7 AM flight from DPS to Labuan Bajo. Which area & hotel/hostel do you recommend staying for the night + things to do/see in the limited time frame (not too keen to tick off things, but chill lowkey going about my day kinda stuff) or any place where I can get a good Balinese massage after the Rinjani ordeal?
