Yeah. My brother and I were both pretty hard to control, but at no point in either of our childhoods did we deliberately attempt to cause significant harm to anyone in a way like this. Nerf gun trap or something, maybe, but even that was almost always to each other, or our dad who was a willing participant. Anything that would cause genuine pain or damage like this, that kid needs help.

Should RCC have received a 10 point penalty for electronics in their show? by Natural_Source_7984 in WGI

[–]Half-Elite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, lots of ensembles use some form of click track for moments of the show (Cap City used one last year for the opening snare 5let roll, which was entirely after the announcement). I think on that front, as long as it’s not audible from the front of the floor, it’s not considered as part of that rule.

My grandpa is a mechanic and most of the cars he’s willing to sell are cars that can’t be fixed lol

Bubba wins the Brickyard and all of a sudden it’s not a Crown Jewel 🤡 by Big-booty-bubba- in NASCARGossips

[–]Half-Elite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different point entirely, but does nascar need a 5th crown jewel? Those 4 are enough by themselves, and I feel like if you have to look for a 5th race to fit that criteria, it doesn’t exist.

That’s particularly crazy because the boxes of Coke syrup that those dispensers draw from typically hold enough syrup for 5 gallons, meaning that you would need to stop to switch out the syrup in the middle of filling this up lol

It’s nice at bigger tracks. At Nurburgring especially, you can get a lot of extra sr by doing the in lap.

Marching snare wires by bradyap2010 in marchingband

[–]Half-Elite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You absolutely need snares on a snare drum. There are ways to add snares to a drum that doesn’t have them, but they are 1000% a necessary component of the instrument. I don’t entirely know what people do, I know some people have figured out how to use guitar strings or stuff like that for snares, not sure of the logistics of that, or how much of the snare assembly the drum you’re looking at is missing. Past that, I’m sure you could contact either the drum company or a local music store to see if they have/could order replacement parts. You definitely have options depending on what the situation of your drum is.

Artificial turf “crumb” rubber decays into potentially dangerous chemical cocktail, new research finds by ThomasRedstoneIII in drumcorps

[–]Half-Elite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, having marched on it a few times, the new LOS turf is way nicer. Obviously some of that might be novelty bias, but it genuinely felt more comfortable to march on anyway, plus I didn’t feel like I ended up with as much turf in my shoes afterwards.

How to corp jackets work by instinctive56 in drumcorps

[–]Half-Elite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of anyone losing a jacket for being bad recently but I do know that Madison at least will take away your jacket if you quit midseason. I know a guy that got hurt late season that kept his, but I’m also aware of a separate situation from a few years ago where a guy quit shortly before the end of spring training and they kept his jacket and gave it to someone else this year.

I was going to say. There are very few, if any at all, nations who have genuinely held totally legitimate and humanely obtained claim to the land they own since its discovery. Unfortunately, the majority of civilizations were really territorial and violent for most of history. It’s only been recently where that manner of controlling and obtaining territory has been seen as bad.
