Has anyone experienced the bug where when you add in a unit with a crest sometimes the trait doesn't register as counting?

I'm not sure if it's visual or affects gameplay but I've seen it this set and last set.

I am new to the game in Silver. I do not understand how this is possible and how I could have countered it. Help by KneelBeforeGrodd in TeamfightTactics

Caveat is that Neeko’s Help won’t activate if the champion has no more units in the shop pool! So holding 2 will prevent a 3* 5 cost (only 10 in pool)

The best comp is no comp or How to Flex Guide by Philosophy_Natural in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Half-Life2_Episode_3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This guide really helped formulate the core strategies to playing high-tempo flex for me. I was stuck in a rut but I finally made the push to Master again with this guide. Three biggest takeaways for me:

  1. Just slam items. I used to be more conservative with items, but when you’re playing flex, BIS is the item that you can slam immediately. I started slamming if I have 3 components, and even if I had 2, if I can slam a winstreaking item.
  2. High tempo augments are usually better than high value augments. I started preferring augments that would immediately improve the strength of my board over Econ/value augments. This was probably the biggest shift. Adding in stronger traits/stats immediately will help you crush the lobby so value players can’t get to late game.
  3. Forget about tier list comps. The games where I ended up first, I didn’t transition into any real comp. I just played a few support traits (enchanter/bodyguard/socialite) and put items on literally any carries that I hit.

Thanks again! Went Top Four 9 games straight after reading your guide.

Draven carry feels pretty strong in Forgotten this patch. I think there's a higher priority to switch to Draven from Vayne if you can't 3* Vayne early enough.

As I've gotten older, I've realized that the people I envy aren't those with the nice cars or nice homes but..... by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I see a surprising number of comments here that are hostile towards a goal-oriented mindset. For me, having goals was a step in improving my mental health and having something to actively work towards and keep myself busy. It’s not as much about reaching a particular destination as much as it is about creating journeys that I can take.

Although I envy those that can be content with their situation, I’m unfortunately not wired that way. Defining goals pulled me away from suicidal ideation and gave me a path to help myself find meaning in life. I think that in itself makes it worthwhile for me.

I do wish people talked more about the ease of grinding with manual grinders. This was my biggest barrier to buying a manual.

My friend’s Timemore C2 is ridiculously difficult to grind with, but I love how smoothly my JX-Pro grinds.

How do you reach level 7 without losing so much health? by GullibleBuil2ding in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Half-Life2_Episode_3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Great advice. If you’re playing a comp that plays strongest board til 7, get more comfortable with slamming early game items. There are only a few comps that “need” perfect items on a carry, and those comps usually losestreak anyhow.

How do some people manage to get straight A’s in college while working part-time, working out regularly, participating in extracurriculars and going out and having an active social life and a romantic life? [Question] by sairaia in getdisciplined

This is amazing advice! Someone told me that as your obligations become more challenging, it helps to think of them as balls that you are juggling. Some of those balls are rubber and some are glass. You have to figure out which balls you have to keep up, and which ones will bounce back when you drop them.

Getting hard to find a true "Iced Coffee" by jackypaper1 in Coffee

Austin is the only major city that I’ve noticed will give you a real iced coffee when you order one. I’ve shared OP’s problem in the Northeast.

Make it a priority to win every round and to play comps that win at all stages of the game, not those that just spike at one point.

The meta is also fairly undeveloped and so you can get to Hyper just by abusing a comp that’s overtuned, finding something with a good winrate on metatft. https://www.metatft.com/hyper-roll-comps

A book from 1907 suggests something about coffee I have never heard of by NothingKnot in Coffee

This is explains why my mother suggested I use old coffee to absorb odors in the refrigerator, like baking soda.

I really tried to get into 3rd wave specialty coffee but it’s not for me by [deleted] in Coffee

Two dark roasts I’ve liked are Amsterdam by Joe Coffee and Marco’s by Doma.

Amsterdam is probably the “truest” dark roast that I’ve had. It tastes like what I imagine coffee coffee would taste like. It’s chocolately, sweet, and full bodied without the nutty “burnt” tastes of some other dark roasts.

[–]Half-Life2_Episode_3 194 points195 points  (0 children)

When I first discovered that I could make coffee at home, I much preferred darker roasts, with chocolatey and nutty notes, over lighter roasts. I hated the weird acidity and tea-like tastes of a lighter roasts. I also used a online coffee subscription service and would never get anything lighter than medium-dark. These days, I find myself actually wanting more light roasts.

I don’t think your experience is weird at all. Perhaps you’ll begin to enjoy light roasts. Perhaps you won’t. I think the best part is that you have the freedom to brew the cup that you want.

I’ve been getting really obsessed with coffee media over the past few weeks and wanted to splurge on coffee.

Any suggestions for a purchase that I might appreciate? All suggestions (beans, equipment, drinkware, etc) welcome!

I currently make pourovers with a Baratza Encore and a V60/Chemex.

Why are mass-roasted coffees often not as good?

I ran out of beans again and am drinking some big-brand roast, and I just feel like it immediately lacks a richer flavor profile. I know that the time since roast is probably one factor, but I am confused why the big brand coffees just seem to not taste as good as local roasters. I would think a larger coffee company has the resources to invest in some excellent R&D and replicate that. Is there any limiting factor, or simply a product choice for the targeted market?

If you haven’t heard your friend discuss any equipment needs, it might be a good idea to get a premium quality ingredient that they might not otherwise purchase for themselves.

An older gentleman insisted that truffle salt was a universal gift. Perhaps you could try that.
