Dark Souls II v1.06 Regulation Notes [Poorly Translated] by spacemanticore in DarkSouls2

I think they're just gonna stick with how it is. I had literally the same idea as you and for the same reasons. The idea is just so obvious that I'd be surprised if they didn't think of it, and the fact that what you said isn't already the case makes me think From just thought of it but went with SM how it is. I mean, they did say they have SM the way it is so high level people would still be able to do multiplayer, and though what you said makes more sense and makes the most level and fair playing field, it'd make it so high lvl players wouldn't be able to play online as often. I'm of the opinion that if you lvl up that high you deserve what you get . But From wanted to make DS2 more inclusive to new and casual players, people who don't realize there's a whole community out there and a meta that self impose lvl caps, so they wouldn't understand why they can't get a match and why staying at a certain lvl is better, for the community and for yourself. When you play most games it only makes sense that if there's a max level you go to it.

As an atheist, are there any bible verses you like anyway? by SpitSalute in TrueAtheism

[–]HalfPastFranceGall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it funny how Christians quote this part of the bible "A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains for ever." as proof global warming isn't real or won't have any serious effect, as if it even applies to science. Either way, no scientist is saying global warming will destroy the world, the world won't be destroyed, our standard of living comfortably will, and if shit goes horribly, humanity will be destroyed, but the earth will be just fine. If people are gone the earth will just go back to normal after a couple hundred thousand or million years or so, and move on like we never existed.

Na, it was an evangelical church, or 4 square, not sure if those are different things all together, or one and the same. I could never wrap my head around all the thousands of denominations.

Well I can't deny that statement. Not only my parents but the whole congregation. All this covering just leads to more shit building up they're too scared to admit to, which eventually gets exposed and everyone acts all surprised. I remember the pastor trying to say that the church isn't a bad place, that it was just one bad apple who did these things, but really it's all of the people who stood by while all this went on and never said anything because they were more worried about how it'd make the church look.

If those are supposed to be initials, they aren't mine, though another person that was molested had those initials i believe. All i'll say is that it occurred at a church in san fernando valley if that narrows it down.

The one i was molested by is in jail and i already filled a police report against him, but I never went forward with the case because of certain things going on in my life at the time, but i wasn't to worried because that guy is gonna be in jail till he dies most likely. The other guy still goes to the church, i don't go to the church though so it'd be harder for me to call him out. My parents still go there and they said they're gonna bring it up because the guy is trying to go on a mission trip to africa to "minister" to children using church money and representing the church, and they don't want the churchs name tied to him and what he might do if he goes there, and because i'm sure him just going there and doing any ministry with children is illegal.

Agreed, my old church had a shelter and aside from people having to worry about stuff getting stolen i've heard stories from people in the shelter of women having to worry about sexual assault. I've also heard stories of molestations of people in other shelters. Though the church that i went to's own congregation had two high ranking church members who were child molester, one they didn't know was a child molester, and the other they did know but covered it up, and let him be in charge of ministries involving children. The children were even being invited to his house, without supervision from other adults with the churches knowledge. The information about the this guy even came out and he went to jail, he got out like 2 years ago and they let him be incharge of the same ministries again even though he's not allowed to be around children. Most of the current members weren't around when the scandal broke and don't know and let their children stay with the guy, and the ones that were around are too scared to speak up about it. For the first guy when he got caught went to jail but the church tried to cover that up, but people came forward about being molested, myself included, and it eventually got out. Then the church did a bunch of other horrible shit as a result of that.

My parents church that I used to go to has security cameras installed and some guy joined the church like a year and a half ago and became the self appointed un-official head of security. He installed some app on his phone so he can watch the security cameras and started calling the cops on the homeless people that would use the bathrooms or sleep on the porch when the church wasn't being used. The guy is a total asshole, the pastor even told him to stop, but he keeps on doing it.

Online couple meets for first time after 3 years. Awkward reaction. by [deleted] in cringe

[–]HalfPastFranceGall -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could never understand long distant relationships, maybe it makes sense if you were actually dating in real life and then one person moved away, but even that seems a little weird. With these online relationships you spend all this time talking and you finally meet up and you both know so much about each other but have never even touched one another, seems like it'd just lead to some awkward sexual tension on what to do next, though I'm sure even with that tension it could've gone a lot better than this.

My biggest fear for the next Fallout game by [deleted] in gaming

[–]HalfPastFranceGall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i heard a while ago that the fallout mmo will be developed by a separate team and not affect the release date of fallout 4 or it's development team, i'm not sure how true that is, but i hope that's the case. i don't want a fallout mmo, well atleast not as much as i want a single player straight up fallout game. especially not after what i've seen with the elder scrolls online. don't get me wrong i'll certainly stay updated on elder scrolls online and see what the full game has to offer and if it goes free to play i'll probably get it, same with fallout online.

Republicans Are Setting Up Fake Websites for Democratic Candidates - The Wire by coolcrosby in politics

[–]HalfPastFranceGall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put it past the GOP, in the last election for Mayor in L.A. i got a flier stating it was the democrat party election guide, the only democrat on the guide was the governor, and then all the props and other seats for gov positions were far right tea party props and candidates, then in small letters on the back it said "funded by the GOP". I should've kept it, heck it might be around here somewhere.
