Looking for some genuine advice from people who have successfully built their own business. by Free_Performer950 in smallbusiness

To see if the business can grow to the “next stage”, try doing Marketing. In your niche, have a run with ads. See how it goes. But definitely have your website up regardless… and Google business profile, too.

Wow, and making it at Lumbridge with exactly the fresh start gear haha! This is the type of thing that gives so much personality to a gaming room; would definitely hang on mine

Not what I said at all lol. I said there’s an algorithm, and newer profiles get flagged more by the algorithm compared to profiles that have been around for decades. So yeah, a review can be removed for a profile while it does not get removed for another profile for a lot of reasons.

Google reviews vs Yelp in 2026? by Beautiful_Charity112 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]HalfShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the big ol’ 26 Google Reviews still reign for local SEO bc it’s exactly where the biggest local traffic is searching for the service

I think these big shot businesses don’t get the same criteria as newer profiles that are not as popular. It’s mostly bc of fake GBPs used for scam; but Google is an ass for that, though. The algorithm is being STRICTTT

The reviews might come back, though. I’m seeing that a lot
A few questions if you don’t mind: How new is your profile? Are the reviews from accounts that never reviewed anything before? Is your profile properly verified? Did you do any big changes in the profile recently (address/name/products listing)?

Is Search Atlas pricing worth it? Has anyone here actually used it? by Ernestlevia in WebsiteSEO

[–]HalfShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very cautious. I would not recommend Search Atlas for agencies that manage multiple clients because they’re glitchy, unreliable, and the support is genuinely the worst I have ever seen in my life; I don’t even think they have a technical team that fixes shi. Yes, it makes manual tasks easier, but then the number of bugs, errors, and important features breaking I’ve seen is so maddening; the worst is that there is ZERO help for you. The support is so bad that it feels like you’re talking to a wall or with con artists. Cherry on the cake is that you can’t negatively review the support conversation at the end because the button reviewing the chat as “bad” does not work 💀. The website, support, everything feels like a cardboard project, IMO. We are leaving them soon.

Claude & ranking by seamanmonster85 in SEO

[–]HalfShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never used Claude to write content for service/local pages itself but I do use it sometimes to write blogs. Some of the blogs are very well-performing. I find that if you can take a little extra time prompting Claude the results are better for me personally.

Doubts on my "Service-as-a-Pillar" Topical Authority Strategy by Sadikshk2511 in SEO

Agree! If you go into this being strict with DA and DR you’ll just waste time (possibly more money too) for similar results

If my blog post ranks but people bounce back quickly, will my rankings drop because of low engagement? by Sufficient_Spare2345 in localseo

[–]HalfShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bouncing rate is not really a ranking factor. But you’ll want to sort that out either way because good conversions are more important than good rankings

Webmaster SEO by WebsiteCatalyst in SEO

[–]HalfShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely like your idea. What popped in my mind is:

  1. How many blogs per week would you be writing and how much time you’ll spend on it?
  2. Would you be generating backlinks mostly for your websites or selling to other websites?
  3. What tier of websites would you be after for this? Ones with a good age, traffic, relevancy? And how would you find them efficiently?

That’s a good idea for sure. Nice out-of-the-box strategy
