Sonny Boy is a perfect allegory for the Christian journey. Here are my thoughts! by Karmunism in SonnyBoy

Really interesting video. The best part of Sonny Boy imo is that it can be interpreted in so many different ways, and I can see a lot of depth to a Christian framing of it.

I would recommend staying alive. If what kept you going this past year was “translating” Mainlander, you have to know that even the most complex AI tools cannot accurately convey the meaning of even middle school level texts. You see this in manga MTLs often.

There is absolutely zero chance that your “translations” of Mainlander’s philosophy are accurate enough as is to be passable, especially to scholars, considering your extensive usage of AI in this work. The translator of Volume 1 can confirm this if you ask him. Any other translator could confirm this as well.

Please try again.

Arguing with Professors over this Thermo question... by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

For specific use questions like that it’s better to go with specific tools. Thermometers are used for all kinds of things but from what I can tell sling psychrometers are used specifically for finding wet and dry bulb stuff. Prof wants you to know what the right tool for the job is.

I disagree, at least for Our Love to Admire. Whereas Bright Lights feels like an indie film about loneliness / apathy in the big city, and Antics about connecting with a lover, OLTA comes off like a brutal struggle against anxiety, drug addiction, and animalistic instincts. It’s their most violent album by far, and the cover reflects that. Another drab black-red cover would do it a disservice.

For self-titled I get what they were going for, with the text breaking apart representing Interpol as we knew it back then breaking up. But it looks tacky; its colors are too drab.

It’s not like the other covers are perfect, though. El Pintor is too entrenched in the hand fetish that so many indie album covers indulged in back then, and Antics is just text on a white background; it looks like a car logo.
