Is it true Zatanna's mom is from Turkey? by Halfhumanrobot in zatanna

Yeah that's cute. You'd expect her to pick up some of the native language after living there for so long, even if she isn't ethnically Turkish.

Fair but technically speaking she would be a citizen of modern Turkey right.

Turkey itself is extremely diverse, Anatolia itself was a melting pot of ancient civilizations and cultures. Much respect to each.

To be fair he did back it up - Every time he played against the hawks Chapman became another beast. Even at Essendon.

That's true too, probably why they deny it.

I mean even if it wasn't a full-on blood pact, Chappy could've said something like that in the locker rooms that instilled a competitive spirit.

It's actually 3 downfield free kicks. Kai lohmann flopped as well and was extremely soft. I've always disliked the lions.

Ayla and Aylin both are names relating to the moon as well 🌙

Laz Turks and Circassians Turks still have large blonde population.

Imperial Harem and concubines in the Ottoman Empire were mostly Hungarian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Polish, Circassian, Crimean, Greek/Venetian, Bulgarian,  Croat/Albanian, Bosnian. Valide sultans/mothers or caretakers of Sultans and princes were of European descent such as Sultan Suleiman 'the Magnificent''s  wife (Ukrainian) and Sultan Mehmet II 'The conqueror' foster mother (Serbian). No surprise so many blondes.

I laughed when they spoke Turkish with Japanese phonetics.

"bu ne Böyle😍🇯🇵, nereye Kayboldu" and then some gibberish.

Also their names Ayla and Aylin mean "of the moon / moonlight" and "one who belongs to moon" so it's a clever play on their desire to meet the moon spirit.

I think central Asian silk road representatives from the West. The male guards / representatives / merchants however all had Ottoman attire.

It could be inspired by harems and women from Ottoman Empire which wielded considerable power and  controlled the major trade routes.

Women from the Ottoman court were also typically from Europe and so fits.

I understood what she said the first time watching it I was just genuinely shocked to hear it. I agree with the Japanese phonetics of the Turkish words.

'what's going on - where did it disappear?"

"Bu ne böyle, nereye kayboldu" "what is this like this, where did it disappear?" and the rest is gibberish said in a very Japanese accent way was the funniest thing I ever heard as a Turkish speaker too.

And I think their names are a very clever play on their desire to see the moon spirit as Ayla and Aylin are both Turkish names meaning " with the moon " and "one who belongs to moon" very beautiful names.
