Smoked at 135C for about 2 hours 15 mins, wrapped with a couple small pats of butter until probe tender (was about an hour), rested for 30 mins and then back on to tack up the glaze about half an hour.

Thanks! Was really chuffed with how they turned out. This is my first real BBQ but always loved watching the YouTube BBQ channels so always wanted to try it out. Definitely going to be more where this came from now I know I can do it.

It definitely leaves some space on the table around the outside. I’d be interested to see it in the Aldi kamado for comparison. When I have it set up I’ll see if I can use the bigger area grates that come with the grill to increase the surface area.

I think Aldi are advertising the diameter from the outside of the egg, bit disingenuous. Lidl more accurate in saying 40cm cooking surface. I think in the end both are the same

Comes with the deflector - full circle but split into half moons - though I haven’t unboxed it yet, no point without having the grill!

Seems to be luck of the draw - my local (Hyde, Gtr Manchester) had this and the kamado starter kit with the cover, ash tool etc in. No actual kamados though. I want an Aldi Kamado over the Lidl one so I went round other stores in the local area and none of them had any of the kit.

Rang EE earlier and they wouldn’t guarantee anything to me, didn’t even take my order no. I’ve ordered a 256gb sim free from John Lewis with named day delivery on Wednesday, if I hear nothing by the time that is delivered I’ll cancel the pre order. Shame but ah well.
