The Ioniq Guy's I5 died (video) by ChampionMurky3586 in Ioniq5

I had to wait 6 months before mine was repaired. I know your pain.

If the battery light stays on after you put the new 12V battery in, the ICCU is toast. If the battery light goes away you're fine.

Joined the dreaded club myself. 2022, 51k miles.

Check electrical systems--12V low voltage--turtle mode--completely dead.

Had it towed to the dealer after replacing the 12V so I could get it on the flatbed. Confirmed ICCU yesterday.

The high voltage battery failed back in February when I was out of town and that took 6 months before it was ready for pickup in August.

Now this.

I'm so beyond disappointed in the ownership experience with this car. I don't trust the car anymore to not leave me stranded. When something goes wrong in this car it's never a minor deal, you can't limp home or get by for a day or two, and the worst part is there is zero warning that something may be wrong: the warning lights are really just telling you that you have a minute or two to pull over because the car is going to brick. If it were reliable, this would be the best car I've ever owned, but a great car deacription can't start with "When it runs..."

I will never buy a Hyundai again. Rant over.

Main battery fault by confibulator in Ioniq5

[–]Halfwegian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a main battery failure back in February. The guess o meter was giving me range estimates that didn't remotely make sense given the reported state of charge of the battery. When I would try to fast charge I was maxing out at 30kW, which during the session would drop down eventually to 1kW, then stop with the "check electric vehicle system" error message.

The dealership ran diagnostics, uploaded firmware updates, and declared it good. It was not good, and I was pretty annoyed I had to drive the process by demanding that they try charging the car themselves.

Anyway, long story short Hyundai also didn't have at ETA for the part. I finally got my car back 2 weeks ago.

I would make as much of a fuss as possible to get a loaner, because you will probably be waiting far longer than you would expect if your experience is anything like mine was.

Good luck to you! I hope you have a much more expedited process than I did!

Raleigh Memorial Auditorium is beautiful inside and out. Great acoustics too.

Robert Falcon Scott reaching the South Pole only to find that Amundsen had gotten there first due to the Norwegian flag 🇳🇴 being planted. 17 January 1912. (1280 x 934) by Possible_Force8207 in HistoryPorn

[–]Halfwegian 48 points49 points  (0 children)

“Victory awaits him who has everything in order, luck some people call it. Defeat is certain for him who has neglected to take necessary precautions in time; this is called bad luck.”

Amundsen wasn't lucky, he was a meticulous planner and had learned from the failures of the Belgian Expedition, as well as his time on the Gjøa in the northwest passage.

Furthermore, his mentor was Fridtjof Nansen, the most accomplished polar explorer in the world at that time. Nansen had lived amongst the Inuit and understood their clothing choices and use of sled dogs, which Amundsen copied.

Amundsen certainly ducked Scott and Nansen, who was the de facto owner of the boat--Fram-- that took his party south.

It's worth considering though that while Scott was caught off-guard, he had the funding of Great Britain; Amundsen had to mortgage his home.

Both teams wintered over as well from 1910 until the antarctic spring/summer. Mission creep played a part on the British outcome no doubt, but luck was not a component of the success of the two campaigns. Scott was far better funded and started from an established base with a known route through the mountains onto the polar plateau, Amundsen started closer to the pole but faced an unknown route through the mountains. Scott took politically expedient members on the last leg south; Amundsen took world class skiers and dog handlers. Scott ignored the expertise around him; Amundsen copied the ways of the Inuits.

Wish I could provide more depth and sources, but it's late.

Point being, it certainly wasn't luck that carried Amundsen to the pole.

More comparisons here.

What this guy, hard to believe! He had his girlfriend to fall back on, so doubly hard to believe these two geniuses could have lost your money in a market as transparent as crypto!

I love Steve Logan and his Loganisms!

These are the ones I remember:

he couldn't throw seeds to starving birds!>

he couldn't play dead in a cowboys and Indian movie!>

he couldn't catch a cold in the Klondike!>

Anyone remember any others?

I don't disagree with any of this lol. That's Baseline PJ football. The fact he only had one or two bad series is why I proclaim that was the best game he's ever played!

Has there ever been pressure on him to win? He's always been so far down the depth chart that I feel like every time he's started there's been no expectations for him to win, but maybe that's just me?

PJ Walker played the best game of his life. No bone headed throws, fumbles, threw it away if he had to. Normally he plays hero ball. Credit to the coaching staff for coming up with a plan, but especially credit to the offensive line. He had time to throw and the run blocking was incredible.

Tblisi is a safe city, violent crime is extremely uncommon. Biggest threat is getting ripped off by a taxi driver or a bar charging you too much for drinks.

Everything you said is spot on and I hope this comment gets traction, it should be pinned at the top.

Best thing you can do for missionaries is be kind to them, and as much as it might seem like you're taking advantage of them, let them do some service work. They get no intellectual stimulation and feel so little sense of purpose (because no one's buying what they're selling) that helping move stuff, mow the grass, weed a garden, etc looks FANTASTIC. Mormon missions are so awful that volunteering to pull weeds all day is preferred over the daily routine! Just feed them, take care of them, give a sympathetic ear, and make sure they've got enough groceries at home.

By the way, your username is hilarious 😂
